Working with challenging participants

Three Ways to Prepare for a Challenging Workshop Participant

This week I took the opportunity to answer a question I received in response to one of my weekly emails.

Jason, who works in financial services, had a tough time at a workshop he ran recently. One of his participants was uninterested in participating in the activity Jason was running.

Their negative energy brought everyone in the group down. It was a total bummer!

So Jason responded to my email with this question:

“How do you make sure that those who want to participate in a workshop don’t get bummed out by a hater?”

It’s a great question, and something we deal with all the time at gravitytank.

In this video, you’ll hear some workshop horror stories from my colleagues.

I share three actionable strategies to prepare for, and manage challenging participants in a workshop setting. They’ll help you run successful workshops.
