A range of innovative products are flooding the market \u2013 be it usage-based insurance like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/support\/insurance\/real-time-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla\u2019s<\/a>&nbsp;where premiums are based on the customer\u2019s real-time driving behaviour; or, embedded products like life insurance in a flight ticket which are integrated in the core product and invisible to the end-user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, technologies like AI and IoT are opening up new insurance value propositions \u2013 such as flexible life insurance policies for bike couriers based on telematics data. New selling models are also emerging along with non-traditional partners and digital forms of distribution &#8211; all driven by changing consumer preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"background-color:#f4f4f4\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swissre.com\/dam\/jcr:e6d179df-ae07-4985-a5ff-d399b7462ef9\/swissre-institute-digital-platform-solutions-insurance-india.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More than 70% of Indians feel confident buying digital insurance, compared to 50% for traditional insurance<\/a>.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To an insurer, these shifts can seem overwhelming at first. But with change come new possibilities and new opportunities for growth \u2013 especially within distribution. That\u2019s where insurers can truly transform customer experiences and boost revenue. Led by Salesforce\u2019s Abhishek Jain, Lead Solution Engineer, and Priyanka Garg, Senior Manager, Solution Engineering, the webinar explored key trends in insurance distribution, as well as ways to optimise agent performance, productivity, and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are six key takeaways from the webinar:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Policyholder expectations have evolved<\/strong>: India\u2019s policyholders want insurers to know their needs, and delight them with personalised products and recommendations. Instead of traditional face-to-face interactions, they prefer hybrid, omni-channel, and multi-touch engagements. They also expect self-service options and transparent&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/in\/blog\/2023\/01\/why-it-might-be-time-to-automate-your-insurance-claims-experiences.html#:~:text=Using%20Salesforce%20for%20Insurance%2C%20you,and%20lower%20costs%20per%20claim.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claims processing<\/a>&nbsp;built on trust.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Post-pandemic distribution value chains are going digital<\/strong>: More insurers are shifting their sales processes online, and are actively investing in digital insurance platforms to engage customers. This helps them perform better, improve productivity, and boost sales revenue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open APIs are creating new revenue opportunities:&nbsp;<\/strong>Through API integrations, insurers can access data like telematics to customise policies and pricing models.
