Integrating 32 systems through 120+ APIs speeds up order fulfilment
Using MuleSoft, JSW Steel can create, deploy, and govern both new and existing APIs with ease. The company has already created 120+ APIs, and integrated up to 32 systems for a streamlined order management experience.
Enquiries, contracts, and orders are created on the Salesforce CRM through tight integrations with JSW Steel’s demand planning system (which selects the optimal plant for order fulfilment), ERP system (which validates product variant configuration (VC) and pricing), and manufacturing systems (which capture and manage production schedules).
Pre-built connectors automatically sync master data from the ERP platform to Salesforce, enabling data accuracy and integrity across systems.
Since inventory data is integrated with sales and order management data, teams have real-time visibility into stock levels. So, if there’s any surplus or free inventory, they can quickly redirect it to customer orders, thereby improving liquidation rates.
MuleSoft also syncs data on orders, delivery timelines, and production schedules across systems. With visibility into this data, teams can optimise schedules, predict delays, and adhere more closely to promised delivery dates.
The cost to serve customers has also reduced with MuleSoft automating the flow of data and processes across departments.

Flexible and secure APIs drive scalability, improve speed-to-market
Through API integrations, JSW Steel can go to market faster with new initiatives, while also hyper-personalising customer experiences. MuleSoft feeds data to an enterprise data visualisation platform, enabling teams to model and analyse customer insights effectively.
Since MuleSoft supports both composable and reusable APIs, it can be scaled up with ease to accommodate JSW Steel’s rapidly growing customer base. Already, the platform is used in four customer segments, six major product verticals, and multiple plants across JSW Steel’s domestic and exports businesses.
“All these data integrations have been enabled with a 99.7% success rate,” says Shah. “Within a short period, we’ve seen an exponential jump of 52% in the number of API calls generated. That translates to about 7.2 million API calls per annum.”
MuleSoft’s complex implementation was made simple due to two factors – inbuilt integrations with the Salesforce CRM platform; and the expertise of implementation partner, PwC.
PwC went above and beyond the business requirements document to ensure that JSW Steel achieved the desired outcomes.
