Through in-depth interviews and a survey of 5,000 full-time desk workers, the research uncovered five distinct AI personas that employers need to understand as they implement AI and bring workers onboard \u201cThe AI Team\u201d \u2014 a workplace where humans and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/service\/ai\/agents-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI agents<\/a> work successfully side-by-side:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83e\udd70 The Maximalist (30%): Maximalists are using AI multiple times a week to improve their work and are shouting from the rooftops about it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\udd2b The Underground (20%): Undergrounds are Maximalists in disguise, using AI often but hesitant to share with their colleagues that they are doing so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\ude0e The Rebel (19%): Rebels don\u2019t subscribe to the AI hype. They avoid using AI and consider it unfair when coworkers engage with these tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\udd29 The Superfan (16%): Superfans are excited and admire the advances made in AI, but aren\u2019t yet making the most use out of it at work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\uddd0 The Observer (16%): Observers have yet to integrate AI into their work. They are watching with interest and caution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Salesforce perspective: <\/strong>\u201cThe AI-powered future of work isn&#8217;t just about enterprises, it&#8217;s also about employees \u2014 and it\u2019s redefining everything from careers to workplace culture. But to realize the promise of AI, companies need to make AI work for workers and bring everyone onboard The AI Team,\u201d<strong> <\/strong>said Christina Janzer, SVP of Research and Analytics at Slack, a Salesforce company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>But to realize the promise of AI, companies need to make AI work for workers and bring everyone onboard The AI Team.<\/p>\n<cite>Christina Janzer, SVP of Research and Analytics, Slack<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why it matters: <\/strong>Leader urgency to implement AI has <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/blog\/news\/the-workforce-index-june-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grown 7x<\/a> since the beginning of the year, but more than two-thirds of workers have yet to use the technology at work. There\u2019s a real risk if that trend continues: Companies and employees alike can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/in\/news\/stories\/ai-trends-for-crm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">miss out on tangible benefits<\/a> by not adopting AI. In addition to improving efficiencies, AI can elevate the employee experience \u2014 from overall performance and productivity to wellbeing.
