Monastics. Golden Hoodies. \u2018Hoolicon\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Karin Flores has a whole lot of Dreamforce stories. As an 11-year veteran of Salesforce, she\u2019s attended more than most. And as SVP of Strategic Events, she gets the all-access, behind-the-scenes view that\u2019s harder to come by.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course,&nbsp; for the last two years, \u2018behind the scenes\u2019 has meant something completely different \u2014 there are no backstage passes when COVID-19 makes an event digital-only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s been quite a wild ride,\u201d Flores said. \u201cWe\u2019re coming up on our second Dreamforce that we\u2019re producing in a global pandemic, and it has truly been a lesson in resilience and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dreamforce this year will employ a \u2018hybrid\u2019 model, with hundreds of Trailblazers [those people using Salesforce to innovate within their company] attending in person, and online participation available for free to the global trailblazer community on the new streaming platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/press-releases\/2021\/08\/10\/announcing-salesforce-plus-new-streaming-service\/\">Salesforce+<\/a>. As Flores puts it, \u201cthere have been a lot of changes since 2019, when we used to welcome over 100,000 of our customers, prospects, employees, and community into San Francisco. There&#8217;s a reason for that. Dreamforce is what we call a family reunion, bringing together our customers, our employees and the community. They\u2019ve actually attended a couple of times \u2014 once as speakers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve brought in some fantastic speakers over the years \u2014 experts from UCSF, presidents, celebrities, activists on sustainability and equality. Dreamforce is always about winning product innovation, but Marc [Benioff, Salesforce CEO]\u2019s vision was always that we should also try to inspire our community, our customers, and prospects in every aspect of their life. I think we were well ahead of the game in terms of that. The \u2018luminaries\u2019 track at the event is one of my favorite things about Dreamforce, and I think it&#8217;s what makes us so special. The other time the team from \u201cSilicon Valley&#8221; came to Dreamforce was to do some reconnaissance work for the show itself. In the show, there\u2019s this big tech conference \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h6SQjKRAaGI\">Hoolicon<\/a>\u2019, and it definitely resembles Dreamforce. They even use some footage from Dreamforces past in their commercial! Not only in your personal life, but in your day-to-day work life.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Wellness has become a steel thread that we pull through Dreamforce now. We want to provide a platform for them to share their success.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut we also knew that you can only watch Zooms for so long! So we started to think about ways to make Dreamforce interesting and fun in this new environment.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen I look back from last summer to where we are now in terms of our visual storytelling, we&#8217;ve really grown in leaps and bounds. We\u2019ve incorporated our family of mascots \u2014 like Einstein here! \u2014 into the storytelling.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a new look and feel for us, and a new medium.
