David Schmaier is the President and CPO at Salesforce, where he is responsible for the company’s global product strategy and vision. With more than three decades of experience in enterprise software, CRM, and industry-specific verticals, David helps customers map and realize their visions for digital transformation — and do so with speed, flexibility, and scale.

Before his appointment in February 2021, David was the CEO for Salesforce Industries. David joined Salesforce through the company’s acquisition of Vlocity, where he was the Co-Founder and CEO from 2014 to 2020. Before founding Vlocity, David was the EVP at Siebel Systems.

David serves as a strategic advisory board member for Genstar Capital and is a cabinet board member for the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard. He holds a B.A. in mechanical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
