Innovative solution captures big data on road surface conditions from mobile devices
TOKYO—December 4, 2014—Salesforce [NYSE:CRM], the Customer Success Platform and world’s #1 CRM company, today announced that Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has developed a Big Data solution for conducting road inspections using the Salesforce1 Platform.
The Ministry’s Big Data solution captures information on road surface conditions from mobile sensors attached to moving vehicles, including buses, taxis and other public transportation vehicles. The Ministry will use the data to determine the need for road repairs. Road inspections will be conducted through the end of March 2015 in Chiba City and Toyonaka, Osaka.
