New AI capabilities for Nonprofit Cloud enable nonprofits to quickly generate personalized fundraising proposals and summarize key information to improve programs and stakeholder engagement

Salesforce Data Cloud for Nonprofits helps nonprofits unify and harmonize their data to gain a holistic understanding of their donors, prospects, and other key stakeholders

Nonprofit customers like Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will use Salesforce for Nonprofits to improve efficiency and program management

Salesforce today announced new AI and data capabilities for Nonprofit Cloud to help nonprofits improve efficiency, personalize donor engagement, and increase funding. New capabilities include trusted AI tools that generate personalized gift proposals and succinct summaries of program success, grants, donor histories, and more — right where nonprofits are already working in Nonprofit Cloud.

Salesforce also announced Data Cloud for Nonprofits to help nonprofits unify and harmonize their data to gain a complete view of donors, volunteers, and program participants. Combined with new AI capabilities, this unified data helps nonprofits surface key insights across fundraising success, program performance, and grantmaking initiatives.

New innovations: Nonprofit Cloud leverages the Einstein 1 Platform to help nonprofits unlock their data to power trusted AI solutions that make time-consuming tasks fast and easy. New innovations include:

  • Fundraising Gift Proposals uses generative AI to create personalized gift proposals, grounded in donor data, such as what causes and programs donors have supported in the past, their personal interests, and past interactions with the organization. This reduces the time spent manually compiling donor information and writing custom proposals.
  • Einstein Summaries: Salesforce will be adding generative AI-powered summaries directly into Nonprofit Cloud workflows. With the new Summaries features, nonprofits will be able to better:
    • Understand program success: With Program Summaries, nonprofits will be able to use program data, like descriptions and attendance, to generate program performance summaries that can be added to impact reports with the click of a button — saving days of manual preparation.
    • Engage with major donors: Major Donor Engagement Summary provides a summary of key donor information, making it fast and easy for fundraisers to prepare for engaging high-value donors. Now, instead of spending hours researching, program managers can just ask Einstein to quickly summarize key information.
    • Simplify grantmaking: Grantmaking Summaries for Grant Application for Board Review will create one-page summaries of dense grant applications that can be easily shared with board members for review. Grantmaking Summaries for Funding Awards will summarize performance to help projects stay on track and nonprofits plan for future grants.
    • Understand engagement history: Notes Summaries will help nonprofit teams across fundraising, programs, and grantmaking summarize conversations and interactions with stakeholders so every employee can gain a clear, up-to-date understanding of a stakeholder’s preferences, history, and recent engagements.
  • Data Cloud for Nonprofits: Brings together structured and unstructured data from different sources – such as excel, donor databases, volunteer data sources, and more — into a common model to give nonprofits a complete view of every stakeholder, including donors, volunteers, and program participants. Nonprofits can use this data to better understand program performance and fundraising trends as well as to power AI and marketing tools that personalize donor outreach, summarize grant proposals, and identify program participants who might be at risk of attrition.
Fundraising Gift Proposals helps nonprofits generate personalized emails for fundraisers to better engage with donors.

Why it matters: With an increasing demand for services amid rising costs and the growing need to diversify fundraising strategies, it’s no surprise that nonprofits report managing workload as their top challenge. These challenges are exacerbated when data is siloed and fragmented. In fact, 42% of nonprofits also listed investing in data security, integration, and reporting as priorities.

The Salesforce perspective: “Every nonprofit wants to provide the best experience for donors, volunteers, board members, staff — and most importantly, the people and causes they serve. But, they have a lot to accomplish with limited resources. With industry-specific AI and data tools, Salesforce is helping nonprofits boost productivity by augmenting staff with AI, use data more effectively to build deeper relationships with their stakeholders, and ultimately, raise the funds needed to meet their mission.” — Lori Freeman, VP & Global GM of Nonprofit at Salesforce
