Snowflake’s Frank Slootman on “The Inflection Point”: Winning Is All That Matters

Quick Take: Frank Slootman, CEO at Snowflake, joined Monica Langley, EVP, Salesforce, on “The Inflection Point” to explain how a “combat mentality” led him to the largest-ever software IPO. 

What’s the impact? Slootman revealed that his classic “rags to riches” story came with human cost — both to himself and to the company that asked him to quickly change things — at any price.

“The fastest way to get change in organizations is to change people. That may sound harsh, but I get thrown into situations where they need change and they need results and they’re looking to optimize the outcome.”  

“Industries are changing in profound ways. The future is not going to be the same as the past. Don’t steer the ship by its wake because you’re going to get caught with your pants down one of these days.”

“You have to be extremely aware as a CEO that you’re not just taking care of business as usual. There’s going to be profound change forced on you, and will you recognize it in time?”
