Video: A Q&A with Salesforce Chief Product Officer Bret Taylor

“If you look at the landscape of technology, I think it’s changing more rapidly today than it has in generations,” says Salesforce Chief Product Officer Bret Taylor. Taylor sat down for a wide-ranging video interview with Bloomberg’s Emily Chang.

He discussed Salesforce’s agreement to acquire Mulesoft, the upcoming TrailheaDX developer conference, and the technology industry coming to grips with its impact on society. He also emphasized how important it is for organizations to lead with values like trust.

“The most important thing in our industry is trust, and it is extremely important that your company is crafted around your values,” he said.

A respected software engineer and executive who has helped build widely used products, Bret was most recently the co-founder and CEO of Quip, the innovative collaboration platform Salesforce acquired in 2016. Prior to founding Quip, Bret served as Chief Technology Officer at Facebook and as Group Product Manager at Google where he co-created Google Maps.
