It all pales next to this.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story, by Brian O\u2019Keefe, includes input from futurists and strategists on how businesses should balance risk and opportunity during the coronavirus crisis. They note that businesses have many unanswered questions as they navigate their paths forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSomething that is really risky has two features,\u201d Hersh Shefrin told Fortune. Shefrin is a professor at Santa Clara University\u2019s Leavey School of Business and an expert in behavioral finance. \u201cThe first is that the consequences induce a sense of dread. Second, there\u2019s a great deal of uncertainty, so we don\u2019t feel we have control.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a time when data matters more than gut,\u201d added Amy Webb, Co-Founder and CEO of The Future Today Institute. \u201cAnd certainly more than, \u2018Well, this is what we\u2019ve always done in the past.\u2019 \u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schwartz, a noted futurist, recently worked with Deloitte on a series of possible scenarios for the outcome of the COVID-19 crisis. They are available<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/eu\/blog\/2020\/04\/four-possible-pandemic-outcomes.html\"> here<\/a>, and range from outcomes featuring effective responses that restore normalcy, to outcomes that feature a much more prolonged recovery.
