At that time, we pledged to donate a total of $200 million over five years. Eight months later, we are proud to provide a look into our strategy and what\u2019s driving this work.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Our Philanthropic Strategy to Advance Racial Equality &amp; Justice<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our strategy to advance <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/equality\/racial-equality-justice-taskforce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">racial equality and justice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is grounded in a simple vision: to create a society where everyone has an equal chance at prosperity, resilience, and representation. While our focus on driving more equitable outcomes for the Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities has deepened over the last year, amidst a global pandemic that has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities and a profound reckoning with racial injustice, this work is by no means new to us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Through the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/philanthropy\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Salesforce Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, we are committed to opening the doors of opportunity so that everyone has equal access to a quality education, a meaningful career, and a prosperous future. Our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/philanthropy\/salesforce-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Education, Workforce Development, and Thriving Communities programs<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">continue to prioritize support for individuals from underrepresented and underserved communities in the U.S. and globally. We are working to embed an even deeper racial equity lens in this work by examining our philanthropic policies and practices to address unconscious bias, ensure our dollars are funding both immediate and long-term solutions, and support more Black- and minority-led nonprofit organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As part of our 5-year, $200 million commitment, Salesforce has also launched a new corporate Racial Equality &amp; Justice Fund, focused on three intersecting areas:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Economic Opportunity: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Advancing access to capital for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous entrepreneurs; supporting tech solutions that foster financial inclusion among underrepresented communities; and promoting access to growth opportunities within the Salesforce ecosystem.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Civic Engagement: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Creating a more inclusive democracy that represents the voices of every American, with a focus on advancing voting rights and voting access within the Black and Latinx communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Systems Change &amp; Resilience:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Investing in research and data to address the root causes of racism and promoting equitable recovery efforts related to both the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our philanthropy doesn\u2019t stand alone. It\u2019s a partnership with other areas of the business\u2014including People, Policy and Purchasing\u2014and it\u2019s a reflection of what we\u2019ve heard from our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/equality\/equality-groups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Equality Groups<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, our nonprofit partners, and our communities. We also know that how we invest our philanthropic dollars is just as important as where we invest them. That\u2019s why we\u2019re focused on providing general operating support and prioritizing donations to Black-, Latinx-, and other minority-led nonprofits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Our Latest Racial Equality &amp; Justice Donations<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are proud to announce $5 million in new donations to 16 remarkable nonprofit organizations. These investments build upon our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/racial-equality-and-justice-update-protecting-the-right-to-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">previously announced $5 million in donations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and include a focus on all three priority areas:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Economic Opportunity<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$1M to the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.robinhood.org\/the-power-fund\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Robin Hood Foundation\u2019s Power Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to address the interplay of racial justice and economic justice by investing in nonprofit leaders of color.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$475K to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/missionassetfund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mission Asset Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/talktechassociation.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Talk Tech Association<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gopaladin.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Go Paladin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transparentcollective.com\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Transparent Collective<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to create a fair financial marketplace and help Black and Latinx founders break into and succeed in the tech ecosystem.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$420K to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/climbhire.co\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Climb Hire<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jvs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">JVS Bay Area<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hbcuforce.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HBCUforce<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to prepare individuals from underrepresented communities for jobs that require a background in Salesforce, and provide the experiences and connections needed to succeed in the Salesforce ecosystem.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Civic Engagement<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$1.5M to the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naacpldf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">NAACP Legal Defense &amp; Educational Fund, Inc.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brennancenter.org\/issues\/ensure-every-american-can-vote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brennan Center for Justice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to protect and expand voting rights to ensure every American has access to equal representation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Systems Change &amp; Resilience<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$755K to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/eatlearnplay.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Eat. Learn. Play Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alashmb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ayudando Latinos a So\u00f1ar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cepi.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, to promote food security and advance fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$550K to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.policylink.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">PolicyLink<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.urban.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Urban Institute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to support research that analyzes and exposes racial and ethnic disparities, and promote data-driven policy solutions to further equitable outcomes for the Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities in the United States.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$300K to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redcross.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> American Red Cross<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to support disaster preparedness and enable immediate relief to communities in crisis.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to these investments, Tableau has driven $5.4 million in donations through its<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tableau.com\/foundation\/issue-area\/equity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Racial Justice Data Initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It is our hope that this early progress will inspire others, because we aren\u2019t alone on this journey.
