\u201cTwenty thousand years and five degrees cooler ago, my house would be sitting under a giant glacier,” Max Scher, Head of Clean Energy & Carbon Programs for Salesforce, explained recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If just five degrees of cooling separates Scher\u2019s hometown of Seattle<\/a> from working beneath glaciers, one can only imagine the impact that three degrees of warming \u2014 the planet\u2019s current trajectory \u2014 will have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s this concern that inspires Scher and the rest of Salesforce\u2019s sustainability team to fight the climate crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately for the team, a \u201cgreater good\u201d mentality is a part of the company\u2019s DNA; and has been since its inception in 1999<\/a>. Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff believed then \u2014 as he does now \u2014 that one doesn’t have to choose between doing well<\/em> in business and doing good<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
