throughout company&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At Salesforce, values drive the company\u2019s decision-making. Every employee and team knows Salesforce\u2019s values and strives to live by them every day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With sustainability as a core value, Salesforce is leveraging its full power to drive climate action and further operationalize sustainability across its entire business. This means every internal organization incorporating sustainability into its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/blog\/how-to-create-alignment-within-your-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">V2MOM<\/a>&nbsp; \u2014 a Salesforce alignment process that drives the company\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salesforce today has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/press-releases\/2021\/09\/21\/salesforce-achieves-net-zero-across-its-full-value-chain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">net zero emissions<\/a> and has been voluntarily <a href=\"https:\/\/stakeholderimpactreport.salesforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reporting<\/a> on its greenhouse gas emissions since fiscal year 2012. Since that time, the company has continued to increase the scope of its climate action strategy by actively engaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/content\/dam\/web\/en_us\/www\/documents\/white-papers\/salesforce-global-climate-policy-principles.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">policymakers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/scalingclimatesolutions.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">peers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/products\/net-zero-cloud\/sustainability-partnership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">partners<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/company\/sustainability\/supplier-sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suppliers<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/products\/net-zero-cloud\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">customers<\/a> to accelerate towards a collective net zero goal. And just last week, Salesforce <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/salesforce-new-esg-measures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> that it is tying executive pay to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, including two sustainability metrics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mandatory climate reporting is coming<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Regulatory change may soon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spglobal.com\/esg\/insights\/global-esg-regulation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">require<\/a> organizations to report on ESG matters, and <a href=\"https:\/\/greencentralbanking.com\/2021\/06\/08\/g7-nations-mandatory-climate-related-disclosure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many countries<\/a> are already disclosing their climate-related financial risks and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legislatures and regulatory agencies in the United States are also considering disclosure rules. A <a href=\"https:\/\/sd11.senate.ca.gov\/news\/20220126-senator-wiener%E2%80%99s-climate-corporate-accountability-act-passes-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bill<\/a> that would require companies to disclose all greenhouse gas emissions<strong> <\/strong>is moving through the California legislature;<strong> <\/strong>and the U.S. SEC has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/sec-response-climate-and-esg-risks-and-opportunities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solicited public input<\/a> on voluntary climate change disclosures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The next generation of Net Zero Cloud<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In this new era of climate accountability, organizations\u2019 carbon data will need to be as trusted as their financial data.
