Salesforce\u2019s first international renewable energy agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why it\u2019s important: <\/strong>The electricity produced by Blue Grass helps Salesforce continue its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/press-releases\/2021\/09\/21\/salesforce-achieves-net-zero-across-its-full-value-chain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">commitment to net zero residual emissions and 100% renewable energy<\/a> for its global operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In 2020,<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/international-renewable-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salesforce agreed to purchase<\/a> 25% of Blue Grass\u2019 200 megawatt (MW) output to match the electricity used by the company\u2019s Australia operations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Salesforce perspective:<\/strong> \u201cThe Blue Grass agreement is \/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Driving the news: <\/strong>Salesforce identified the Blue Grass project using its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/content\/dam\/web\/en_us\/www\/assets\/pdf\/sustainability\/sustainability-more-than-megawatt.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">renewable energy procurement matrix<\/a>, an assessment tool that scores a project based on its environmental, cultural, and social impacts.
