Similar to how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energystar.gov\/products\/ask-the-experts\/what-does-energy-star-label-mean\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ENERGY STAR<\/a> transformed energy efficiency standards for appliances and electronics, this initiative establishes a clear, trusted benchmark for AI model sustainability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Go deeper: <\/strong>The AI Energy Score will debut at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elysee.fr\/en\/sommet-pour-l-action-sur-l-ia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI Action Summit<\/a>, where leaders from over 100 countries, the private sector, and civil society will convene to harness <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/artificial-intelligence\/what-is-ai\/?d=cta-body-promo-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI<\/a> for good. By enhancing transparency, the score can drive market preference for efficient models and incentivize sustainable AI development. Recognized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.info.gouv.fr\/actualite\/sommet-pour-laction-sur-lintelligence-artificielle-selection-des-35-defis-convergence-ia-de-france-2030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French Government<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/parispeaceforum.org\/ai-action-summit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paris Peace Forum<\/a> for its transformative potential, the AI Energy Score features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Standardized Energy Ratings: <\/strong>A standardized framework for measuring and comparing AI model energy efficiency.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public Leaderboard: <\/strong>A comprehensive <a href=\"https:\/\/huggingface.co\/spaces\/AIEnergyScore\/Leaderboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leaderboard<\/a> that features scores for 10 common AI tasks \u2014 such as text generation, image generation, and summarization \u2014 performed by 166 models, including Salesforce\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/blog\/sfr-top-performing-text-embedding-model\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SFR-Embedding<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/blog\/xlam-large-action-models\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">xLAM<\/a>, and SF-TextBase.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Benchmarking Portal:<\/strong> A platform where AI developers can submit their open or proprietary AI models to be evaluated and added to the leaderboard. Open models can be automatically tested, while closed models can be evaluated through a secured testing sandbox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recognizable Energy Use Label: <\/strong>A new 1- to 5-star label that rates AI model energy use, with five stars indicating the highest efficiency. This helps developers and users easily identify and choose more sustainable models.
