You know what's a common
myth about Salesforce?
That we're an
enterprise-only company.
But actually, 70% of
Salesforce customers
are SMBs. So let's dive
into how Salesforce
is designed to scale
with you and adapt
to your needs, whatever
the size of your
business. Keri Chow,
joined by Salesforce's
SVP of SMB and growth
marketing, Boone
Lai, and Christian
Phillips, CEO of CloudFit.
Boone, we'll start
with you. What is the
most important way that
Salesforce addresses
the unique needs of
growing businesses?
mean, that's
a great point.
SMBs are totally
critical to
Salesforce, and
this is absolutely
an area we're
doubling down on.
Now, when we talk to
many of our SMB leaders
like Christian, we
hear very common
themes, right? That they
are overwhelmed by the
number of apps and
spreadsheets that's
out there, but they're
constrained by the
budgets and the resources
that they have. And
so, you know, what
this actually creates
is actually a lot of
disparate data that's
actually scattered
all around. That's why
many of them turn to
Salesforce as their
single, trusted, all-in
-one CRM solution that
is actually helping
them scale and grow.
One of the things
that we also hear very
often is that this all
-in-one solution that
includes sales, service,
marketing, commerce,
and Slack all
together, is actually
helping them get started
a lot faster, helping
them save costs, and
more importantly,
helping them drive
productivity across the
organization. with
our Customer 360, with
automation and AI
all together. I love
that. Christian, first
of all, thank you for
being a customer for
CloudFit. At a high
level, tell our audience,
what does CloudFit
do? But also, what
were some of the unique
challenges that you
face as a rapidly
growing company serving
customers globally?
Yeah, so CloudFit is
an AI-powered whole
human health platform
uniquely designed
to bridge the gap
between physical health,
nutritional health,
and mental health.
No more fragmented apps,
CloudFit Intelligence
unifies scattered
health data into
one single ecosystem
and delivers a two
-way interactive
coaching experience to
provide every individual
with a comprehensive
overview of their
well-being. And our
mission is simple, it's
to make world-class
coaching accessible
on a global scale.
In the early
days, important
WhatsApp messages,
spreadsheets, emails.
we were constantly
chasing information,
and it really
did slow us down.
And as demand grew,
our biggest concern was
losing that personal
touch with clients.
another major pain point.
Our CTO would spend
hours manually pulling
data just for us
to be able to see
basic engagement
metrics. But now with
Salesforce, we have
complete visibility and
autonomy. And with
that, we're able to
prepare invoices,
generate user reports
and target specific
users with marketing.
I love that and it
hits on exactly what
you're talking about.
All the disparate
information, disparate
data and putting
it all together.
You mentioned you're
using Salesforce,
sales, marketing, Slack.
How did it address
those challenges
and like the impact
of that suite?
We needed a system
that we could trust.
Unfortunately for us,
we became the first
UK startup to be affiliated
with the Launchpad
program. adopting
starter and slack at
the perfect time the
impact was immediate
it gave us guidance and
became a single source
of truth reporting
which took days now
takes 10 minutes
engagement tracking five
times faster and
onboarding engineers went
from hours of calls to
just 30 minutes because
now everything lives
in slack with dedicated
channels onboarding
playbooks support
we have complete
transparency across multiple
different time zones.
Salesforce gave us
speed, clarity, and
credibility. And I
would say it's probably
that professionalism
that enabled us to
land our first major US
client. Oh, I love
that. And I love the
specific use cases that
you're outlining and
talking about like the
onboarding time, right?
That's incredible.
And that's such fast
time to value for
your experience. What
advice would you
have, Christian,
for other growing
businesses that are
maybe interested in
exploring Salesforce
in Slack as part
of their journey?
Simply put,
as many people
would know, it's
quite natural to
feel scattered
as a startup.
You're managing
costs and you're
trying to convince
yourself that you
can run your
business efficiently.
We thought the same
until data started to
slip through the cracks.
So my advice would
be the sooner that
you can adopt starter
and Slack, you'll
see your business run
more efficiently and
you'll have the time to
prioritize the
immediate tasks that you
need. And our CTO
now has full focus on
product development.
Our COO has complete
oversight of the business
and I have transparency
with investors
and with our sales
pipeline. So Salesforce
almost turned our chaos
into clarity. Turned
our chaos into clarity.
You're going to be
our new spokesman.
Boone, if there's one
thing that organizations
need to know about
how Salesforce and
Slack can help their
growing business. What is
it? Yeah, I mean, I
think Christian actually
gave a really good
point, right? Which
is, you know, Salesforce
is the business
advantage for a lot of
the starting and growing
companies. You know,
we are the only CRM
that's actually built
to scale with enterprise
grade from day one. So
you can actually get
going and really get
started with your
business right away
without actually being
worried about displaced
information and data and
so on and so forth.
I think when you're
small, it's actually
really, you know, okay to
rely on manual
processes and, you know,
single apps. But as you
start, like Christian,
to grow faster, you
need all of that to
come together, right?
Your information can't
be displaced everywhere.
You need to pull it
all together. And
Salesforce for small
business is the only CRM
that actually pulls all
of that together that
actually allows you
to focus on what's
important, to really focus
on personalizing your
customer experience
to really help your
team drive much more
productivity and at
the same time to really
help, you know, get more
done for everyone so
that you can actually
focus on doing the
things that really
matters to growing your
business. I love that,
Boone, and a perfect
way to summarize it.
Christian, one last
question for you because
I'm curious. It is clear
that Salesforce and
Slack have made an
impact, but I'd like to
know, was there an aha
moment perhaps when you
realized the investment
was was truly paying
off? Yeah, I think
the aha moment for
us was given we're a
team of former athletes
with no previous
experience of CRM systems,
naively believing that
we could run a business
without it. I think
the aha moment for us
was when we actually
adopted Starter and
Slack and we saw the
power and the functionalities
that it provided
us and it allowed us
to just grow naturally
without worrying too
much about manual
labor. I love professional
athletes you guys
you guys can do it
all look at you ex
-professional athletes uh
i love it thank you so
much for explaining the
story uh boone christian
