Nosto’s cartridge for SFCC adds a single line of Javascript on all pages as well as semantic metadata for the different page types.

On the category page, the current category is tagged. On the product pages, the entirety of the product metadata is tagged. On each page, the current shopping cart contents and the personal information of the currently logged-in customer is also tagged. This embedded semantic metadata is used by the script to understand the page context.

The entire cartridge primarily touches the front-end and does not hook into any APIs. This implementation mechanism allows SFCC retailers to enjoy a low-risk deployment while being able to leverage all of the products and features provided by Nosto.
