Regular programming runs Monday, April 29–Wednesday, May 1. Stay Thursday and Friday (May 2–3) for Tableau Bootcamp.

To register for the in-person experience, click the Register button on the top right of this page. You will need to create an account to register. This account will give you access to your registration details, recommended sessions, agenda builder, and so much more.

If you created an account for a previous Salesforce event, use that same email and password in the login box. If needed, select Forgot Password to trigger a reset. Note: This is separate from your Tableau.com or Salesforce.com credentials.

From there, you’ll provide a few additional details, select your conference pass and hotel, and then you’re on your way to experience Tableau Conference in San Diego.

The Tableau Conference pass is valid April 29–May 1, 2024. It includes access to keynotes, breakouts and theater sessions, hands-on training, the Iron Viz competition, Tableau Doctor, Data Village, and networking and fun with data and Tableau experts.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the Tableau Conference Help Desk. For a full refund of the event registration fees, cancellation notices must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Friday, March 29, 2024. Cancellation notices received between 12:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, March 30, 2024, and 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Friday, April 12, 2024, will be processed at 50% of the event registration fees. No refunds will be processed for cancellation notices received after 12:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Substitution requests will be processed free of charge if submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Friday, April 12, 2024. Substitution requests after this date are subject to a USD $100 transaction fee. These cancellation terms also apply to the registration fees for all classes and events offered as part of Tableau Conference 2024.

Salesforce Health and Safety Cancellation Terms: Salesforce reserves the right to cancel your event registration without a refund if you fail to meet event’s health and safety protocols.

Substitution requests will be processed free of charge if submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Friday, April 12, 2024. Substitution requests after this date are subject to a USD $100 transaction fee. These terms also apply to the registration fees for all classes and events offered as part of Tableau Conference 2024.

Accepted payment methods include: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or Debit cards with a major credit card logo.

 

Sessions

 
 

Keynote: Latest product innovations and the biggest announcements from Tableau with live demos, luminaries, and stories of customer success.

Breakout: A deep-dive 40-minute presentation into a particular product, feature, or topic. The longer length allows for a Q&A portion with the presenters.

Theater: A quick 20-minute introductory and informative session on a specific topic. It can be a tip-and-tricks presentation or a customer success story.

Hands-on Training: Expert-led 90-minute technical training to learn a product or skill. Bring your own laptop (BYOL).

 

You can see all of the sessions taking place in person at Tableau Conference on our Sessions page. From there you can filter by role, industry, product, and more.

 

Session owners are encouraged to share their presentations after the conference. Registered attendees can visit the Sessions page the week after the conference to find shared presentations. Limited episodes will be available on demand on Salesforce+.

 

Tableau Bootcamp and Certifications

 
 

We are thrilled to offer Tableau Bootcamp and Tableau Certification exams at Tableau Conference 2024 — available as optional add-ons at registration.

Tableau Bootcamp: Choose from one of four tracks to meet your specific learning needs. Build and expand your Tableau skills with two days of immersive learning led by Tableau experts. Deep dive into Tableau, learn with your community, and become a data rockstar. Join us following Tableau Conference on Thursday and Friday, May 2–3, 2024.

Tableau Certification Exams: Showcase your skills and kick your career into high gear with an onsite certification exam. Our three add-on certification exam sessions will be on Monday, April 29, 2024.

You can sign up for Tableau Bootcamp and Tableau Certification Exam options as optional add-ons during your conference registration. Take advantage of Early Bird pricing for the best value.

Have you already registered for Tableau Conference, but didn't select a bootcamp or exam add-on? No worries. You can edit your registration details to add them anytime via the Tableau Conference registration portal. But don't delay DataFam; seats are limited.

 

Desktop I: Fundamentals
Don't leave Tableau Conference without honing your core desktop skills. Gain practical experience working with data to build a range of visualizations from single worksheets to dashboards. You'll learn to confidently navigate the Tableau workspace, and pick up tips and tricks for efficient, effective design.

Desktop II: Intermediate
Expand your Tableau proficiency and boost your desktop skills. Learn how to select the best method for combining data in desktop and then create interactive, engaging visualizations that incorporate calculations and analytics features. You will also learn how to apply interactivity to dashboards through the use of actions, parameters, and filters. This workshop is designed for the intermediate Tableau user.

Desktop III: Advanced
This workshop is designed for the advanced Tableau user who wants to learn more about creating and using calculations and table calculations. You will review calculation types used in Tableau, learn advanced table calculations, explore level of detail (LOD) expressions, and discuss when to use which type of calculation. Then, you will use that knowledge to explore scenario-based data to learn advanced chart techniques.

Visual Analytics
Discover the science behind the art of visualizing data in this example-rich course. You’ll learn which types of visualizations are best suited for different kinds of data, and understand the most effective ways to display your data insights in Tableau. Just as importantly, you’ll learn to avoid common pitfalls that can result in misleading presentations of data.

 

Tableau Bootcamp will be on Thursday and Friday, May 2–3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. near the San Diego Convention Center. Check-in starts May 2 at 8:00 a.m.

No, computers are not provided at Tableau Bootcamp. The immersive, two-day training will feature real-world learning, and you will need to bring your laptop. You will need at least a trial download of Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Prep software. Wi-Fi internet access will be provided.

You will receive an email prior to Bootcamp with full details, including preparation steps to take before the training and links to support materials.

 

No. To register for Tableau Bootcamp or a Tableau Certification Exam, you must select your desired Tableau Bootcamp track or certification exam add-on during your Tableau Conference registration process.

If you’ve already registered for Tableau Conference but didn’t select a Tableau Bootcamp or certification exam add-on, you can add it at any time by editing your registration details via the Tableau Conference registration portal. But don’t delay, DataFam: Seating is limited.

 

Yes, we are excited to bring Tableau Certification Exams to Tableau Conference again. The following exams will be available as an optional add-on(s):

There will be three Tableau Certification Exam sessions on Monday, April 29, 2024. Choose from 8:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., or 3:30 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center. If you are taking an exam, we recommend arriving Sunday, April 28.

 

Computers will be provided for certification exams. You will not need to bring your own laptop if taking one of these exams.

 

Yes. Tableau Certification Exams are available at Tableau Conference for a special discounted price of $99 per exam.

Note: Conference discount codes do not apply to certification exam add-ons.

 

You can choose one Tableau Certification Exam per exam session. Choose from any of the three exam sessions during registration. Don’t delay, DataFam, as seats are limited.

 

Yes. The Tableau Certification Exam sessions will be held on Monday, April 29, and the two-day Tableau Bootcamp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, May 2–3, 2024.

Badge pickup will be located in Lobby D of the San Diego Convention Center. Hours are as follows:
Sunday, April 28: 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. PT
Monday, April 29: 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. PT
Tuesday, April 30: 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. PT

Wednesday: Badge pickup is located in Lobby A of the San Diego Convention Center.
Wednesday, May 1: 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. PT

Important notes:
All attendees are subject to a mandatory security screening to enter the event. Be sure to allow enough time for this when planning your arrival. You must show a government-issued photo ID when picking up your badge. All attendees must pick up their own badge. Pick up for others is not permitted. Attendees must wear their event badge at all times during conference activities. If you lose your badge, you will need to go to the registration desk and request a new one. The replacement badge fee is $150 USD.

 

Taxis and rideshares should pick up and drop off on Exposition Way, which is the street in front of the Convention Center. In the rideshare app, attendees will be asked to choose which lobby (A–H) they would like the rideshare to pick them up from. Attendees should follow any directions they receive on the rideshare apps.

A dedicated Parent’s Room is located on the Ground Level, Hall A Lobby and Hall E Lobby (Hall E not available on Day 3). This is a private space for lactating parents. Please note, refrigeration is not provided.

 

Yes. All restrooms at San Diego Convention Center include accessible stalls. There are three all-gender restrooms at TC24:
* Ground Level, Hall A Lobby.
* Upper Level, next to 23A (Breakout 7)
* Upper Level, next to 28 A (Breakout 5)

 

A Quiet Zone is available on the Ground Level near Lobby C for individuals to ease sensory overload and unwind. The room will be designated as a tech-free zone and will have dedicated ambassadors to ensure a serene environment by minimizing noise disruptions.

 

During Tableau Conference, breakfast and lunch will be provided on the Upper Level in Sails Pavilion. Food is also available at Data Night Out, and water bubblers are located on every level of San Diego Convention Center. To conserve water, we’re minimizing water-intensive products like beef and single-use plastic water bottles.

Accommodations

 
 

Due to the proximity of Tableau Conference, online hotel booking has closed. Some Tableau Conference hotels may still have availability. Please refer to this list if you wish to book one of these hotels directly.

 

On April 8, 2024, all Tableau Conference hotel reservations were transferred to the appropriate hotel. For changes to an existing hotel reservation, or to cancel your reservation, please contact your confirmed hotel directly starting April 15, 2024. See your email confirmation for the hotel cancellation policy applicable to your reservation. If you need your confirmation resent, please contact Tableauconference@Salesforce.com.

If you are planning on attending the conference and have not yet secured a hotel reservation, please refer to this list if you wish to book one of the Tableau Conference hotels directly.

 

If you reserve a room via the Tableau Conference registration process, cancellations must be made according to the hotel’s cancellation policy (between two weeks and five days before arrival, depending on the hotel). Failure to do so will incur a penalty equal to the cost of one night’s room and tax. Please check the Tableau Conference Official Hotel List for your hotel’s specific cancellation policy.

Note: All hotels will charge a deposit to the credit card on file before arrival, which will be refunded if you cancel within the specified time.

If you don’t check in to your hotel on your scheduled arrival date, the hotel will cancel your entire reservation. The hotel can choose not to reinstate your reservation, even if you arrive the next day. You will also be charged a penalty of the cost of one night’s room and tax, regardless of whether or not the hotel chooses to reinstate your reservation.

 

Yes. All hotels require a one-night deposit as a guarantee. The credit card used to make your hotel reservation will be charged the equivalent of one night’s room plus tax after the hotel cutoff date. Please check the Tableau Conference Official Hotel List for details. 

 

Yes, as long as you are the cardholder for the credit card you present at check-in.

 

If the card used as a guarantee for your hotel reservation is not in your name, that cardholder must be present at check-in. A credit card authorization form can also be set up with the hotel before your arrival. Please contact the hotel directly to obtain a credit card authorization form using the contact information found here.

 

Hotel room inventory at Tableau Conference hotels in San Diego is limited and will sell out quickly. For best results, use the check-in date of Sunday, April 28, and your checkout date to Wednesday, May 1, when searching for hotels.

San Diego weather in April is mild, with temperatures typically between 60–70 degrees. Indoor conference locations are typically air-conditioned. Please pack layers and check weather.com before you travel.

 

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest major airport, an easy 15-minute ride to downtown and the San Diego Convention Center.

 

You can request an invitation letter to accompany your visa application to attend Tableau Conference during the registration process. Your registration must be paid in full before your letter of invitation can be issued.

Please note that requesting a visa invitation letter does not guarantee that your local authorities will grant a visa to attend Tableau Conference. Additionally, you are responsible for submitting your visa application to your local embassy/consulate; conference management will not submit it on your behalf. All requests are subject to review and approval. Please allow up to 10 business days for requests to be reviewed.

At this year's Tableau Conference, we're introducing a quiet space for individuals to ease sensory overload and unwind. The room will be designated as a tech-free zone and will have dedicated ambassadors to ensure a serene environment by minimizing noise disruptions. Yes. Tableau Conference is located at the San Diego Convention Center. The building has automatic entrance doors and step-free access with elevators connecting ground, mezzanine, and upper levels. All meeting rooms, theatres, and bathrooms are accessible by wheelchair.

There will be power outlets throughout the campus. Feel free to charge wherever and when needed.

 

Yes. Priority seating will be available in our keynote and breakout rooms and at Data Night Out. You can request this service when registering for the event by indicating you have accessibility requirements.

If you require reserved seating in the larger keynotes, please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the keynote begins. Please find a staffer with a handheld “Accessible Seating” sign who will direct you to your seat.

 

ASL interpreters can be requested in advance on the conference registration form. Select “yes” under accessibility accommodations and specify your request. Requests must be submitted by April 15, 2024. We will do our best to accommodate requests on short notice.

Yes. We welcome you and your service animal throughout the campus. Owners must take full responsibility for their animals. Animals can relieve themselves outside anywhere around the venue. The owner is responsible for cleaning up after the animal and disposing of waste properly.

Please note: Emotional support animals (ESAs) are not allowed in the venue.

 

We will have accessible-height counters at Badge Pickup. There will be signs directing you through the line to the necessary desk. Please connect with a staffer if you have any questions.

 

Data Night Out

We recommend leaving your larger bags at the hotel in order to save room for dancing and gain expedited entry into Data Night Out. Backpacks, roller bags, and laptop bags will not be allowed inside the venue. All other bags brought into the venue will be security checked upon entry.

 

Data Night Out is conveniently located across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. You are welcome to walk directly there after the conference ends. We will have signage leading you there. Rady Shell is also accessible via walk paths from surrounding hotels in case you would like to drop your things off prior to the party.

 

In line with our sustainability value, we recommend walking to and from the venue if your hotel is located close by. If you would like to take an Uber/Lyft, the app will auto-route for pickup in the parking lot roundabout directly in front of Rady Shell.

 

We do not have any parking available at Data Night Out. Rideshare drop-off and pickup will be available close to the venue entrance. Data Night Out is also located walking distance from surrounding hotels and the Gaslamp District.

 

We recommend arriving early to Data Night Out in order to soak in all of the fun that it has to offer from 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Musical entertainment, hands-on activations, and food and beverages will be flowing all night long.

 

Yes, we will have a selection of fun food stations and passed bites to pick from. We will have vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options as part of our selection.

 

Your Tableau Conference badge is your ticket inside. Please don’t forget to bring this with you along with a government issued ID.

 

Rady Shell is located fully outdoors and on the beautiful San Diego waterfront. Although we anticipate wonderful weather, it may be wise to bring a light jacket with you. Other than that, feel free to wear something comfortable.

 

Yes, we will have a designated area for guests who wish to use our accessible seats during the event as well as a separate entrance line for easy access to the space.

 

Health & Safety

 
 

Salesforce is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance with local state and city guidelines, we currently are not requiring proof of vaccination or implementing a testing protocol for TC. This is always subject to change.

If you feel sick or show ANY signs or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend Tableau Conference and other associated meetings or events. We encourage you to monitor your health and check in with your healthcare provider as needed.

COVID-19 tests, masks, and medications can be found at nearby Target, CVS, and Walgreens locations or by contacting your health professionals.
