Easynet Connect, owned by BSkyB, and a leading Internet service provider for small to medium size businesses, has selected salesforce.com, the enterprise cloud computing company, to manage its customer and partner relationships in the cloud.
Easynet Connect is one of the 51,800 companies of all sizes, industries and geographies that comprised the salesforce.com customer base as of October 31, 2008. Revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is delivered. Easynet Connect has called on Salesforce CRM to provide a customer relationship management (CRM) application to its customers and partners as well as integration with Google Adwords, which will allow enhanced marketing channel tracking and better effectiveness metrics.
Salesforce CRM will provide a step change for Easynet Connect by running its sales force automation and operations support as well as using the Force.com AppExchange to select pre-integrated best of breed partners to complement its business systems. Force.com AppExchange is the application marketplace that allows customers to extend the benefits of cloud computing throughout their businesses.
The decision to move to cloud computing was focused around the cost and efficiency benefits that Easynet Connect could reap from a web-based customer relationship management (CRM) system. In addition, Easynet Connect is a firm believer in cloud computing, having recently conducted its own research and launched a report on the adoption of the cloud by SMBs in the UK.
Since Easynet Connect went live with Salesforce CRM, it has been taking advantage of the Force.com AppExchange. It is already using two new applications, including the Webcom CPQ sales configurator, which has the ability to automatically engineer, configure, price, quote and if desired, order products and services on-line.
“We have been keen to make the move from manual-based CRM to cloud computing to manage our expanding customer and partner base for some time,” explained Richard Britton, IT Director Easynet Connect & UK Online. “We looked to salesforce.com to help us.”
“Salesforce.com offers world-class performance that could boost our capabilities beyond CRM,” he added. “The ease of configuration and administration – not to mention the depth of capability – made Salesforce CRM stand out against the competition.”
“From the very beginning, we were impressed with the professionalism and speed of the team – as well as the opportunities associated with the salesforce.com application ecosystem,” said Britton.
