We must address these challenges collectively.<br><br>Last week, we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/news\/stories\/updates-on-salesforce-safety-and-wellbeing-actions\/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=organic_social&amp;utm_campaign=amer_cbaw&amp;utm_content=1-text%2C10-gated_no%2C11-destination_newsroom%2C12-event_n%2Fa%2C13-employee_no%2C14-trailblazer_no%2C15-celeb_no%2C16-customer_exec_no%2C17-customer_brand_no%2C2-apac%2C3-n%2Fa%2C4-corporate_statements%2C5-activate%2C6-eq_yes%2C7-event_no%2C8-link_yes%2C9-original_no\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared our latest efforts<\/a> to support both colleagues and communities in India, which includes USD $1 million in donations to local partners.<br><br>Though the crisis is still evolving, our partners on the ground have identified the most urgent areas of support, and these are guiding our efforts. They include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Medical Equipment &amp; Supplies:<\/strong> Providing equipment and supplies such as oxygen, medication, x-ray units, and personal protective equipment (PPE), with an emphasis on those who are least able to afford care.<\/li><li><strong>Community Isolation Centers: <\/strong>Standing up local isolation centers to provide needed medical care while also limiting viral spread and reducing stress on the medical system, with a focus on the most densely populated areas.<\/li><li><strong>Vaccine Awareness &amp; Distribution: <\/strong>Increasing vaccine confidence by disseminating accurate information, supporting community vaccination sites, and providing transportation to vaccination appointments.<\/li><li><strong>Food Security: <\/strong>Supporting smallholder and marginalized farmers while also distributing meals and grocery kits to those facing hunger and lost wages due to COVID-19, or those who have taken time off to get vaccinated.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For those looking to join us in providing support to colleagues, friends and family in India during this critical time, please consider donations to the following organizations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/salesforce.giveindia.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Give India<\/a><\/strong> to provide critical medical supplies to health workers and critical COVID-19 patients.<\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fundraisers.giveindia.org\/fundraisers\/support-us-in-fighting-the-deadly-second-wave-of-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Concern India Foundation<\/a> <\/strong>to deliver medical equipment to hospitals, increase vaccine awareness and distribution, and provide grocery kits to families in need across Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi.<\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedwayhyderabad.org\/covidsupport-phase2-salesforce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United Way of Hyderabad<\/a> <\/strong>to provide medical supplies, support community isolation centers, equitably distribute vaccines, and address food and economic insecurity across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.<\/li><li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/my.care.org\/site\/Donation2?df_id=29869&amp;mfc_pref=T&amp;29869.donation=form1&amp;s_src=362139000000&amp;s_subsrc=FY21ERIndiaCOVIDSalesforce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CARE India<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to support COVID-19 care centers and temporary hospitals and provide critical PPE.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>Editor&#8217;s Note \u2014 May 13: Since our last update, Salesforce has also delivered a plane full of&nbsp;medical supplies, including oxygen concentrators and pulse oximeters,&nbsp;and is working to deliver more<\/em><\/em>. <em>In addition to our company donations, Salesforce&nbsp;employees have now raised nearly USD $1 million to&nbsp;support India&#8217;s COVID-19 relief efforts.<\/em> <em>And together in partnership with Pledge 1%,&nbsp;Salesforce&nbsp;helped organize a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pledgeitforward.today\/global-coalition-mobilizes-26m-to-support-india-covid-19-relief\/?utm_medium=email&amp;_hsmi=126214045&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz--dXllgoBWwy5-yblAlcTjB4BolSbuohwNuuLAzveZNuhoICOgDjW8mIbDOhWNeGjs7vnccdoFuon8qdKYa8gsl_fWhNwzu2UAKppTZcemrP_cZuSw&amp;utm_content=126214045&amp;utm_source=hs_email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">global coalition<\/a>&nbsp;of 40+ companies that has collectively&nbsp;mobilized&nbsp;over&nbsp;$28 million<\/em> <em>for&nbsp;organizations meeting pressing needs across India.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As India faces a devastating second surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are seeing yet again the ways in which disasters magnify existing inequities.
