Strength in Numbers: The Golden State Warriors Culture & Philosophy
The Golden State Warriors recently captured the 2015 NBA Championship after registering one of the most incredible regular seasons in league history (67-15 record). The title represented the first for the franchise in 40 years and was achieved, in part, due to a culmination of good fortune, organization-wide teamwork, astute personnel decisions, innovation, risk-taking and emphasizing character on all levels. Those ingredients have become staples of the organization following a change in ownership less than five years ago, when Joe Lacob and Peter Guber purchased the Warriors. The team’s slogan from last season – Strength in Numbers – depicts the organization’s overall philosophy of inclusion, for the greater good, to help achieve its goals. The Warriors have capitalized on this philosophy to build a championship culture, organization and team in a market that was ripe for success.
