Accelerating Education Transformation With the Help of Salesforce
Big Picture Learning is a non-profit with the goal of reimagining education by leveraging the power of student interest and the social capitol of their community. A hallmark of Big Picture schools are that students develop strong bonds with mentors at internships that take place during the school day, two days per week, for the majority of a student's high school career. While there are regional, state, and national initiatives to promote work-based learning, scaling this model has proved challenging because of the logistics involved in curating relationships with mentors, managing the search process, and tracking compliance. With the help of ECHO TS, Big Picture Learning has built ImBlaze, an internship platform leveraging Salesforce. This presentation will discuss how a small non-profit was able to leverage a relatively small amount of philanthropic support and the existing architecture of Salesforce to build a robust and engaging user experience that is enabling scaling of internship learning, and the disruption of high school education.
