There have been seismic changes to the workforce and the workplace. Companies are fighting to identify and hire the right talent because they realize people are their number one asset. At the same time, professionals are very keen to keep up the technological changes that are becoming pervasive in most careers and predicted to continue. For example, a World Economic Forum _study_ (http://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_FOJ_Executive_Summary_Jobs.pdf) shows that by 2022, more than a third of the desired core skill sets of most occupations will be comprised of skills that are not yet considered crucial to the job today.
Join Jennifer Steinmann, Chief Transformation Officer, Deloitte LLP, and Cindy Robbins, President and Chief People Officer at Salesforce, as they discuss an innovative program called Pathfinder. They will also explore:
The widening gap between available skilled jobs and employees with those skills
Why education is intrinsic to workforce development and equality
Strategies executives should consider for hiring and retaining the best talent
Whether you are a student starting your career or a leader looking for skilled talent, this episode of Leading Edge will help you reframe the challenges you’re facing and build a confident path to success.
Pathfinder is a workforce development program to provide participants from diverse backgrounds with the technical Salesforce skills and business training needed for technology jobs in the Salesforce ecosystem. The program is being launched in collaboration with Deloitte, which will provide training in soft skills, business acumen and effective communication.
