In this session, you'll learn how to use SOSL to search Salesforce for matching leads, contacts, and accounts, post Chatter messages automatically, and integrate third-party APIs to retrieve additional information, such as a company name from an email domain. You'll see how the same integration can be implemented on the Salesforce Platform as an Apex REST web service, or as an external app - in this case in Node.js using the JSForce library, running on Heroku. We'll examine the trade-offs between the two approaches and give you a basis for selecting the right option for your situation.
