Ten things I love about Salesforce
by Tanisha Garg
There are lots of things that one will love and will definitely get addicted to at Salesforce. I will tell you about some of them. Yes, you heard it right. So, let’s dive in.
- Our Ohana - At Salesforce, we are an Ohana of Trailblazers – inclusive of our customers, employees, partners, and communities. Ohana means “family” in Hawaiian, and for us, it’s not just our blood-related family, it’s all the people we choose to be our family – it’s all of our stakeholders. We take care of each other, have fun together, and work collaboratively to make the world a better place.
- Trailhead - I just love this platform. Trailhead mixes a lot of fun and real life examples with the knowledge. I never realized how quickly I got handy with the stuff as I went through the modules at Trailhead. One of the best things about Trailhead is the badges and points part which helped me a lot to track my progress.
- Chatter - This makes the collaboration very easy at Salesforce. It gives me an opportunity to connect with people in different communities. Yes, even outside my team. Yes, with anyone at Salesforce.
- Ideas - There is always a “Why?” in my mind like when I think little deep and I am pretty sure there are lot of people who think the same. At Salesforce, I always get the opportunity to speak up and ask “WHY?” and this leads to generation of new ideas and though not always but sometimes those ideas can be something which can lead to greater innovation.
- Innovation - My day to day tasks made me an innovator as well. Someone who can now think/approach the same thing in different ways. It is something which adds value to my work and my day ends with a huge smile.
- Salesforce Benefits - At Salesforce, we get a lot of benefits. Moreover, since internship is remote, Salesforce has also provided interns with awesome benefits like the reimbursement for the Work From Home (WFH) setup.
- 1-1-1 Model - It refers to giving 1% of Salesforce's product, 1% of its equity and 1% of its employees' time to philanthropic causes and the non-profit sector. And yes, this is one of the major reasons that I joined Salesforce. I love to volunteer and its just an amazing feeling to be part of an organization that founded this model and which is helping the society.
- Care for employees/interns - In the COVID situation, Salesforce allowed all its employees and even interns to work from home since March 2020. For interns, they even made the remote internship possible. In such hard times, it would have been really difficult but Salesforce proved that it sticks to its commitment and it can make anything possible.
- The Community - Here comes the people of Salesforce - the team, the interns and the seniors. I can reach out to anyone at Salesforce and they are always very happy to help me. I can learn from and share information with all the bright brains of the world.
- Fun - The best and the most important part of Salesforce is “FUN”. We have lots of fun. Even in the remote Futureforce internship, Salesforce made it possible for us to have fun. We played online games, did volunteering, learned a lot regarding the different domains of Salesforce, got lots of goodies, had coffee talks.
