From 3 Days to 5 Minutes: How SkySync Automated Its Own Lead Pipeline with Starter Suite

Most AI pilots never pay off — SkySync exists to change that, staying accountable for every dollar of ROI it promises clients. The Brooklyn-based AI-ROI firm powers its own lean, global sales team on Starter Suite and Slack.

Summary

SkySync's growth strategy is simple: Prove the ROI they sell by living it first. SkySync cut lead capture time from 3 days to less than 5 minutes, returned 20+ hours a month due to automated reporting and daily AI-generated summaries, and grew weekly lead volume 24x — all on Starter Suite, with a 21-person team.

SkySync was founded just nine months ago — but it's already doing something unusual: Helping startups prove that their AI investments actually pay off. Founder, Akshit Kandi, spent eight years at Salesforce, including time owning the Agentforce partner roadmap, before setting out to build an "AI ROI firm" from scratch — a company that doesn't just deploy AI for clients, but stays accountable for proving it pays off. Today, SkySync runs as a certified Salesforce SI (Systems Integrator) partner, with a 21-person team spread across four countries — chasing growth on a lean budget and an even leaner team.

The SkySync team juggled prospecting, partner relationships, and product strategy, while trying to keep track of hundreds of leads scattered across siloed spreadsheets, inboxes, and prospecting tools. Every new contact had to be manually pulled into a tracking sheet. Every weekly update meant stitching together numbers by hand instead of running the business.

The tension was real: SkySync's whole pitch to customers is operational discipline — turning AI spend into measurable results. But internally, the team was living the exact problem they were hired to solve for others. Leads took weeks to move from capture to real conversation. Reporting ate hours of their time that should have gone toward customers. And with a distributed team spanning four time zones, they didn’t have a single source of truth that the team could trust at the moment.

Demand generation was its own headache. SkySync's growth ran on in-person events across New York — founder breakfasts, AI happy hours, industry meetups — and every one of them produced a fresh list of promising contacts with nowhere good to go.

Engaging those leads meant exporting spreadsheets into whatever marketing tool was cheapest that month, then manually matching results back to the customer relationship management (CRM) tool by hand. For a team this size, a complicated marketing platform felt like overkill — but doing nothing meant warm leads from a great conversation going cold.

As SkySync set out to scale past its first nine months, the gap between ambition and operational reality was becoming impossible to ignore. Their knowledge about deals and prospects was trapped in spreadsheets and Slack DMs, not a system the whole team could see. The same three-day scramble to capture a single lead was quietly playing out across the whole pipeline, one contact at a time.

SkySync turned to Salesforce Starter Suite to build the foundation their global, lean team needed — the same kind of foundation they sell to their own clients.

Siddhant Sagar, AI Product Manager at SkySync, led the setup himself, connecting Apollo directly to Salesforce so over 800 contacts and prospecting data would flow straight into the CRM instead of getting typed in by hand. Every new lead now lands in Salesforce as a record the whole team can see, not a row buried in someone's spreadsheet.

Salesforce helps us in setting the right foundation with all the data, all the records for our customers and the transactions, which sets the right foundation for getting the ROI to our customers.

The team also connected Slack and Salesforce, so updates on deals surface in Salesforce Channels — right where the team already works. On the reporting side, SkySync built automation on top of Salesforce's CLI to generate daily summaries automatically, feeding into Claude for a quick daily digest instead of a weekly scramble to pull numbers by hand.

Getting a hold of what's going on in a day, it's very challenging. That ability to just go to Slack and just say, ‘Hey, what's going on in my company today?’ — that view that I can just see has been probably the most useful thing for me. It saves hours of my day.

That same small-team-big-ambition problem shows up clearest in how SkySync approaches demand generation. Growth for SkySync has always run through real conversations — executive breakfasts, happy hours, industry meetups across New York — not paid ads. The challenge was always what happened after the event: Dozens of promising contacts sitting in a spreadsheet, with no easy way to group them, follow up at scale, and keep the thread going without it becoming a full-time job.

Starter Suite's built-in email marketing solved that without adding headcount or a separate platform. Akshit is now able to build audience segments directly off the same Salesforce records his sales team already works on, then runs targeted campaigns to re-engage event attendees, nurture prospects who aren't ready to buy yet, and keep SkySync's name in front of the right people between conversations — all inside the same system as the CRM, with no data hand-off and no extra login. It's proof that the marketing muscle usually reserved for teams with a dedicated demand-gen function is just as available to a twenty-one person company running lean.

Now I can just run simple email marketing campaigns along with it. That's really been helpful lately because I can just re-engage with all my customers through that email marketing campaign.

The results speak to how far that reach goes: A single campaign now reaches more than 1,000 contacts, all pulled straight from SkySync's own Salesforce data — no separate list-building tool, no exporting, and re-importing, no marketing hire required to make it happen.

For a nine-month-old company built on the promise of AI ROI, the numbers had to hold up internally before SkySync could sell them externally.

Lead capture that used to take two to three days of manual export, clean-up, and upload now takes less than 5 minutes through an automated flow, which is roughly five-hundred times faster from form submission to a workable record. The daily AI-generated summary, built on Salesforce data, cuts Akshit's own review time by 90%, returning over 20 hours a month he used to spend manually checking seller activity across the team. The Apollo integration fully eliminated manual contact entry for over eight hundred contacts a month, six hours of work, gone. And retiring a standalone email tool in favor of Starter Suite's native email marketing cut the marketing stack in half.

Since go-live, speed shows up in the pipeline, too: Median time from lead creation to first logged activity is now about four minutes over the last thirty days, with first-touch response happening in minutes instead of going untracked. Lead volume has jumped 24x in the week after go-live, with weekly volume since running as high as 34 leads.

It's still in-person events that move the needle most for SkySync — a reminder that even an AI-native company built on automation closes deals through human connection first. What's changed is everything that happens next: Instead of a list going cold in a spreadsheet, every contact flows into a campaign built for exactly where they are in the relationship, run by the same person closing the deals, with no added cost or complexity.

Salesforce saves me a whole bunch of time and lets me focus on my business.

For a founder running a startup on a lean team across four countries, that time is the whole point. Add it up, and Starter Suite is returning SkySync 21–26 hours a month — roughly 15% of a full-time employee added to a 21-person team, without a single new hire, on Starter Suite pricing. It's the proof of concept SkySync now points to with its own clients: Real ROI from AI-powered automation, measured on their own instance, ready to print.
