What is the future of AI for sales?
The future of AI in sales points toward leaner teams, more productive reps, and greater reliance on AI agents. Instead of large teams doing manual work, sales orgs will likely see smaller groups of "super reps" — high performers equipped with AI to handle research, forecasting, and deal management at scale.
For complex mid-market and enterprise deals, I can see AI helping reps by preparing hyper-personalized demos, generating business cases, and coaching calls in real time. In more transactional or SMB sales, AI sales agents may take the lead — qualifying prospects, drafting proposals, and managing follow-ups without human help.
The result isn't fewer opportunities for sellers, but a shift: Reps who learn to use AI effectively will outperform, while those who don't risk falling behind. The competitive edge in sales will increasingly come down to how well teams adopt and apply AI.
