A Journey of Perseverance
Growing up in Venezuela, Sara Hernández had her heart set on becoming a doctor. Her grandmother had other ideas, though, and gently steered her toward technology. Sara listened, and it turned out to be the best advice she ever received. She discovered a real knack for solving business problems through code and built her early career in the banking industry. Political instability in Venezuela shaped a journey that took her to New York to pursue her studies and later to Chile to build her career, where she joined a global insurance company as an IT Project Manager. That's where Salesforce entered the picture. Sara was asked to support a Salesforce project that required her Portuguese language skills and that project sparked a curiosity that quickly became a career.
Building for Scale
That first project changed everything for Sara, and she's never looked back. Today, she's a Solution Architect at Mutua Madrileña, one of Spain's largest insurance companies, where she helps turn complex business challenges into scalable Salesforce solutions. Over the past few years, her focus has expanded into enterprise solution and data architecture, with particular expertise in Salesforce Core, Marketing Cloud, Data 360, and Zero Copy . Increasingly, she's taken on a strategic advisory role, helping organizations define their overall strategy before selecting the right technologies. It's a perspective grounded in years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of how technology can solve real business challenges.
Building with and for the Community in the Agentic AI Era
Beyond her day job, Sara founded WomenForceIT, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women build careers in the Salesforce ecosystem. This is where her most hands-on work with agents is happening. For the WomenForceIT website, she's building and customizing Fora, an Agentforce Service Agent that answers questions about programs, mentorship, and events, giving people real-time help without overwhelming a small team of volunteers. "Building Fora myself has shown me where agents truly add value and where they fall short," she says. "An agent is only as good as the data and the grounding behind it."
That same passion fuels Conexión Latina, a virtual, community-led event that brings Spanish-speaking Trailblazers across Latin America and Spain together.
For Sara, great AI starts with great data, and great communities start with people willing to share what they've learned. It's the latest chapter in a community story that includes founding the first Salesforce Admin community in Chile, launching two Spanish-language podcasts (Crónicas de Salesforce con Sara Hernández and Aprende Salesforce con Sara ), and leading the Madrid Salesforce Architect Group.
Being recognized by this community means everything to me. And the best way I know to honor that is to keep building, keep sharing, and keep opening doors for others.

Recognition and the Road Ahead
Her contributions have earned recognition across the ecosystem, including Salesforce MVP renewal, Architect Ambassador, and founding membership on both the Salesforce Community Advisory Board and Datablazer Content Advisory Board. In 2022, she even received the first-ever Golden Hoodie awarded by Customer Success.
What excites her most about the road ahead isn't the technology itself, but what it's forcing organizations to do: put data strategy ahead of tools. For her, that's where the role of the architect is heading. Not only delivering implementations, but making the decisions that shape how data is governed, activated, and trusted.
