Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cimulate, an emerging leader in AI-powered product discovery and agentic commerce. The acquisition will strengthen Salesforce’s investment in Agentforce Commerce by accelerating improvements to search and discovery, helping retailers deliver more personalized, contextual, and conversational shopping experiences.
As shopper expectations continue to evolve, retailers are moving beyond keyword-based search toward intent-driven discovery. By integrating Cimulate with Agentforce Commerce, Salesforce will enhance how shoppers find, explore, and evaluate products in real time, helping them discover and convert faster while enabling merchants to focus on higher-value brand and growth strategies.
Cimulate provides an intent-aware context engine purpose-built for retail. Its platform combines real and simulated shopper journey data to better understand shopper intent, enabling more relevant search results and personalized discovery experiences across the commerce journey. Once integrated with Agentforce Commerce, these capabilities will help retailers deliver search experiences that feel more natural and responsive to how shoppers actually browse and buy.
“The future of commerce is agentic, moving beyond simple transactions to intuitive, conversational discovery,” said Nitin Mangtani, SVP & GM, Commerce and Retail, Salesforce. “By integrating Cimulate’s technology into Agentforce Commerce, we’re helping retailers close the gap between shopper intent and action, delivering experiences that feel more natural, relevant, and effective.”
“Joining Salesforce allows us to scale our technology and put it in the hands of the world’s leading retailers,” said John Andrews, CEO and Co-Founder of Cimulate. “Together, we can help brands move beyond legacy search to experiences that truly understand what shoppers are looking for and respond in real time.”
The acquisition brings Cimulate’s specialized team to Salesforce, adding deep expertise in intent-aware and contextual search for e-commerce and retail, and supporting continued innovation across Agentforce Commerce.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary closing conditions.
