Sabastian Niles, President & Chief Legal Officer, Salesforce
Sabastian Niles is President and Chief Legal Officer at Salesforce, as well as the Board of Directors Corporate Secretary. As the leader of Salesforce’s global legal affairs organization, he oversees its approach to governance, risk, and corporate accountability in an era of rapid AI-driven change.
He is responsible for guiding Salesforce through complex legal, and regulatory challenges while scaling innovation, ensuring the company’s approach is grounded in trust, sustainability, ethical practices, and long-term impact. He also serves as a trusted advisor to Salesforce’s various stakeholders, advancing a vision of humans and AI agents working together to drive stakeholder success.
Before joining Salesforce in 2023, Sabastian was a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he specialized in advising global companies on corporate governance, enterprise risk oversight, stakeholder and shareholder affairs, strategic investments, and mergers and acquisitions. His expertise also includes championing sustainability initiatives and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
Sabastian is actively involved in several organizations. He is a fellow of the American Law Institute and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Board of Directors for the Partnership for New York City and the Economic Club of New York. He also holds many advisory and nonprofit roles, serving on the board of advisors on Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program, on the Legal Services Corporation’s Leaders Council, and director of Literacy Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering families and individuals through education.
Sabastian earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he co-founded the Harvard Association of Law and Business, and holds undergraduate degrees in Economics, Finance, and Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Maryland.
