Salesforce Introduces Agentforce Nonprofit with New AI Agents to Empower Staff, Drive Fundraising, and Maximize Mission Delivery

Salesforce Introduces Agentforce Nonprofit

Nonprofits are at a breaking point. Funding is being cut, and nonprofits cite raising sufficient funds as their number one challenge this year. Staff shortages and burnout are rising. Behind every number is a person stretched to the limit, a fundraiser skipping lunch, a case manager staying late, a volunteer coordinator juggling three roles. Meanwhile, demand for essential services keeps surging, leaving teams overwhelmed and struggling to provide the critical support that millions of people rely on.

To better support the critical missions and work of the nonprofit sector, Salesforce today announced Agentforce Nonprofit (formerly Nonprofit Cloud) with new, purpose-built AI agents for fundraising, program management, volunteer coordination, and donor support. With Agentforce Nonprofit, organizations can deploy AI agents to elevate their teams — dramatically cutting down on administrative time. This translates to hundreds of hours saved that staff can redirect to high-value work that deepens community engagement and secures the vital funding needed to provide critical support to those in need.

Nonprofits like Pacific Clinics, Pledge 1%, Blue Star Families,YMCA of San Diego County and America On Tech are already using AI agents to save hundreds of hours of manual work for their teams who are now elevated to focus on mission-critical work like delivering better services to their communities faster than they could before.

Why it matters: According to our recent Nonprofit Trends Report, nonprofits are under growing pressure, yet employees are buried in routine administrative tasks, using time that could be spent connecting with a vulnerable client or securing a crucial donor. Although a majority of nonprofits are optimistic or excited about AI, many don’t know where to begin. Agentforce Nonprofit makes it easy and fast for nonprofits to get started with AI agents purpose-built to tackle the most common time-consuming tasks.

Agentforce Nonprofit provided us with what we needed — access for clients when they need us, agility for our employees to do this vital work, and accurate data to guide us in delivering care that makes a positive difference.

Kathy McCarthy, CEO/President, Pacific Clinics

New innovations: Four new, prebuilt agents are available:

  • Prospect Research helps fundraisers better understand high-value donors and their past engagements, right within Slack. This provides fundraisers an easy way to prepare for a prospective donor meeting instead of spending hours on manual research.
  • Participant Management assists program and case managers by summarizing a client’s background and services. During a conversation with a client, the agent can work alongside a program or case manager to automatically create new goals, take notes, and flag referrals for needed services.
  • Volunteer Capacity & Coverage helps volunteer coordinators find unfilled shifts and connect the best-suited volunteers to the right shifts. This allows volunteer coordinators to save time by no longer manually matching volunteers to opportunities based on their availability, skill set, and location.
  • Donor Support helps deflect key donor questions and allows for better self-service for donors. This helps ensure fundraisers can spend their time engaging with donors instead of answering basic questions.
Participant Management helps nonprofits to better support with service delivery.

The customer perspective: “Agentforce Nonprofit provided us with what we needed — access for clients when they need us, agility for our employees to do this vital work, and accurate data to guide us in delivering care that makes a positive difference. By assisting with administrative tasks, agents empower our team to spend more time listening, connecting, and providing personal support. Over time, we expect our external agent to help us reach more people so we can help them live healthier, more fulfilling lives.” — Kathy McCarthy, CEO/President, Pacific Clinics

For organizations looking to build their own agents, the Agentforce 360 platform can support the complete agent development lifecycle with a robust set of tools to build, test, deploy, manage, and orchestrate AI agents. Among nonprofits that are building bespoke agents:

  • Pledge 1% will introduce its new Pledge Impact Partner agent to guide more than 19,000 member companies as they turn their commitments into meaningful impact. In its first phase, the agent will deliver personalized onboarding to help companies get started and learn responsible impact practices. With Agentforce, Pledge 1% anticipates stronger early engagement, with a 30% increase in the number of new members attending welcome calls and designating a social impact lead within the first 45 days.
  • Blue Star Families is developing its STAR (Saving Time And Resources) agent to better support 1.5 million military family members by streamlining the organization’s data-driven decision-making. The agent is expected to reduce administrative time by 50% by guiding all Salesforce users through account, opportunity, and interaction record creation. This will help the organization create more accurate and complete records with fewer duplicates in half the time.
  • YMCA of San Diego County is developing a member services agent to provide timely support and help its 400,000 participants find relevant programs. This AI agent is expected to reduce staff administrative time by 50% and improve customer satisfaction by 20% by automating routine tasks and offering self-service support. By simplifying these processes, the agent allows staff and volunteers to focus on building relationships and delivering high-quality programs that benefit the community.
  • America On Tech is developing a powerful grant reporting agent that addresses the strain of manually creating over 50 funder reports annually. This agent generates customized, data-driven funder reports in under an hour. From staff prompts, the AI agent autonomously gathers student success data and visualizes it, producing charts and graphs ready to add to reports. AOT can quickly show that students in its programs have completed internships and advanced in technology careers, meeting funder requirements. With time freed from reporting, staff can cultivate stronger funder relationships that sustain growth and mission impact.

The Salesforce perspective: “We know that AI is going to change the way nonprofits engage, and it’s about adopting these new tools to help organizations scale the work they’re doing. When a tool can save a program hundreds of hours a month, that’s not just a software update — that’s a direct investment in the mission and the people they serve.” Lori Freeman, VP & Global GM, Nonprofit, Salesforce

The customer perspective:

  • “Previously, our Salesforce administrator would have to pull the data whenever our fundraising team needed it for grant reports, and it would take three or four days to turn around all the information. Now, anyone on the team can ask questions to the agent and have all their answers in a matter of minutes. It speeds up the whole process and our ability to get back to our partners faster, which they appreciate, and our Salesforce administrator and the rest of our staff are able to work on higher-level strategic projects.” — Jessica Santana, CEO, America On Tech
  • “The program management use of AI is incredibly helpful and exactly the kind of thing our staff would need and use. It would free up our team to actually focus on the young people themselves, which is why we do what we do. I think people are going to find it very useful.” — Debbie Haile, Salesforce Administrator, XLP
