Salesforce Announces New Chief Trust Officer

Salesforce has named Brad Arkin, previously Chief Security & Trust Officer at Cisco, as the company’s new Chief Trust Officer.

Arkin joins Salesforce with over 20 years of product and enterprise security leadership at companies including Cisco and Adobe. At Salesforce, Arkin will focus on working with customers, partners, and the company’s extended ecosystem to prioritize trust and security in an AI-first world.

Why it’s important: Last year saw the explosive growth of AI-powered services aimed at helping companies supercharge productivity. But a trust gap remains, with a majority of businesses and customers expressing concern about the unethical use and security risks of the technology.

In his own words: “Every day, our global customer base counts on Salesforce to deliver trusted AI so they can be successful. As the AI revolution advances, we need to continuously earn the trust of our customers, employees, and stakeholders by raising the bar for data security, transparency, privacy, and performance. That’s the mission. And I can’t wait to get started,” said Arkin.

Zoom out: From navigating new SEC disclosure requirements and the EU AI Act to securing the enterprise against insider risks, cybersecurity guidance and resilience is more critical than ever. Under Arkin’s leadership, Salesforce will work closely with customers to navigate the shifting landscape of data security and privacy.

“Salesforce builds security into everything we do,” Arkin continued. “But we also recognize there are aspects of security, privacy, and compliance unique to every organization. I look forward to partnering with all of our customers to ensure they have everything they need to be successful — ranging from advice on security best practices to providing training on the tools available to strengthen the security of their instance.”
