Salesforce Launches Missionforce Military Fellowship to Help Service Members Build Careers in the Agentic Era

Salesforce Announces Missionforce Military Fellowship
  • The Missionforce Military Fellowship is a 12-week Department of War SkillBridge program that helps transitioning service members translate their military experience to careers in AI and technology.
  • Fellows receive hands-on technology training, mentorship and Salesforce certification support while gaining experience alongside Missionforce teams serving the national security community.
  • The program expands Salesforce’s longstanding investment in military talent at a time when AI adoption is increasing demand for workers who combine technical skills with mission experience, leadership, and judgment.

As government agencies accelerate the adoption of AI and other emerging technologies, building the workforce to put those technologies to work is becoming an increasingly important part of national security readiness.

Salesforce today announced that it has launched the Missionforce Military Fellowship, a 12-week Department of War (DOW) SkillBridge program designed to help transitioning service members translate the skills they developed in uniform into careers in AI and technology.

The fellowship places service members alongside Missionforce Customer Success teams, where they receive Salesforce certification training and support, build AI and consulting skills, and gain hands-on experience with technologies used across government and national security. Fellows who complete the program can pursue available full-time opportunities with Missionforce.

In the agentic era, the expertise of our service members — their understanding of the mission, judgment under pressure, and ability to lead through complexity — has never been more important.

Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce at Salesforce

Missionforce National Security is Salesforce’s mission readiness platform purpose-built for defense and intelligence organizations, bringing together secure cloud, data, and AI capabilities to help organizations coordinate personnel, logistics, and mission operations.

“AI is changing how national security organizations operate, but technology alone doesn’t create readiness. In the agentic era, the expertise of our service members — their understanding of the mission, judgment under pressure, and ability to lead through complexity — has never been more important,” said Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce at Salesforce. “This fellowship helps transitioning service members pair that experience with new AI and technology skills so they can continue contributing to national security missions in their civilian careers.”

Turning military experience into a technology career

The fellowship is designed to build on the capabilities service members already bring — leadership, adaptability, communication, problem solving, and the ability to execute under pressure — while giving them the technical foundation to pursue careers in technology.

For Keith Campion, U.S. Navy veteran and Senior Services Sales Solutions Architect, the fellowship helped translate his military experience into a new career.

“Salesforce invested in me: training, certification support, and real mentorship. From day one of my fellowship, I was treated like an employee, not an intern — given real responsibilities and trusted to contribute,” said Campion. “That matches Salesforce’s reputation as a top employer for veterans, which I’ve found to be accurate. Now, with Missionforce, I focus on national defense customers, which lets me support the same people and missions I’ve always cared about.”

Building the workforce for the agentic era

The Missionforce Military Fellowship builds on Salesforce’s longstanding commitment to the military community. For more than a decade, Salesforce Military has provided veterans, service members, and military spouses with training, certifications, and resources to build careers in technology.

As AI and other emerging technologies reshape government operations, agencies and the companies that support them increasingly need people who combine technical fluency with an understanding of mission environments, operational complexity, and public service.

The Missionforce Military Fellowship will help expand that talent pipeline, giving transitioning service members new technical skills while enabling them to carry their leadership, judgment, and mission experience into the civilian national security workforce.
