Salesforce Announces the Latest Building Coming to its San Francisco HQ Campus

  • Editor’s Note: On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, Salesforce announced that the company is reducing its footprint in Salesforce East and has mutually agreed to part ways with the pre-lease of the office component of Parcel-F.
  • Salesforce Official Statement: We continue to evaluate our global real estate strategy to align with our business needs. With our employees planning to return to the office with more flexibility, we’re reducing our footprint. When it’s safe to do so, we’re looking forward to reopening our HQ and welcoming back our employees. As San Francisco’s largest private employer, we’re committed to continued growth and giving back to the community in the years to come.
  • The story below was the original announcement of plans for Parcel F.

As reported by The San Francisco Chronicle today, Salesforce has announced plans to lease the entire office portion (17 floors) of Parcel F, a new ground-up high-rise building being developed by Hines located near Salesforce Tower, the centerpiece of the company’s urban headquarters. Dubbed Parcel F in advance of its official naming, the new San Francisco skyscraper will stand 800 feet tall (about 270 feet shorter than Salesforce Tower). Parcel F is also the final project that will directly connect to the 5.4-acre Salesforce Park via a pedestrian sky bridge.

Parcel F is located mid-block between First, Second, Howard, and Natoma Streets, adjacent to the Transit Center and the new suspension bridge for the bus ramp connecting the Transit Center to the Bay Bridge. Floor 31, the highest of Salesforce’s leased floors, will be an Ohana Floor, an open flexible hospitality space where we will welcome employees, customers, partners and the community. Upon completion the floor will be open on weeknights and weekends when available at no charge to nonprofits and foundations that align with Salesforce’s values. Today, our Ohana Floors can be found across our named Towers globally including San Francisco, New York, and Indianapolis, with additional locations opening soon in London and Atlanta.

Employees are expected to begin occupying the new building in 2023. Parcel F will be the first Salesforce location designed for mixed use, and will include 325,000 square feet of office space, 165 condominium units, a 190-room hotel, and ground floor retail space.

“It’s a sign of strength for Salesforce, which recently became the city’s largest private employer with 8,500 workers,” The Chronicle reported. “The cloud computing company now has space for its goal of 10,000 workers in San Francisco.”

Parcel F will join Salesforce’s urban campus of buildings including Salesforce East, Salesforce West and Salesforce Tower, which opened in January of this year.

Below are renderings and illustrations showcasing the new building’s design and views. In the coming months, Parcel F will get an official name. Stay tuned.
