What are the plans for Salesforce Tower Chicago?

In November 2018, we announced our plans for Salesforce Tower Chicago, our new regional headquarters that will be joining our family of towers across the globe. Slated to open in 2023, Salesforce Tower Chicago will be a brand-new, 813 foot tall, 57 story tower, located at the foot of where the north and south branches of the Chicago River converge. Surrounding our future tower is the best of Chicago’s River North neighborhood and right outside our doors will be a 2.3 acre public park and riverfront plaza.

Salesforce Tower Chicago will be one of the city’s most sustainable buildings as we’re pursuing LEED v4 Commercial Interiors Platinum certification and ILFI Net Zero Carbon Certification.

The top floor of the Salesforce Chicago Tower will feature an Ohana Floor, meaning that the space will be available during non-business hours for nonprofits and foundations to use at no cost. As Salesforce EVP of Real Estate Elizabeth Pinkham explains, “When we approach our real estate, we design our offices as spaces that feel like home, where we can welcome our entire Ohana (“family” in Hawaiian). This includes our employees, customers, partners and the communities in which we live and work … In a typical office setting, the top floor is often dedicated for executive offices. Instead, we take the most sought after floors and design them as open flexible hospitality spaces. During the day, our Ohana Floors are open for employee events and then on weeknights and weekends, these one-of-a-kind spaces with jaw-dropping views are made available for nonprofits and foundations at no cost — aligning with our values of giving back.” Ohana Floors can be found across Salesforce’s named towers globally and to date, events in these spaces have raised nearly $10M for charity.
