As organisations explore how to become an Agentic Enterprise, qualities like patience, empathy and openness to change remain essential to navigating an AI-driven future.
This exclusive conversation with Rahul Dravid reflects on leadership and resilience, showing why the strongest outcomes emerge when technology amplifies human instincts.
Q. You’ve shown incredible resilience in cricket. How can businesses cultivate resilience to thrive in today’s fast-paced world?
In cricket, you learn that things won’t always go your way. What matters is how you respond to the situation. Staying steady, learning from mistakes, and coming back stronger, and not giving up easily are key. Businesses too need that mindset. Resilience comes from focusing on the basics, taking it one day at a time and trusting the process.
Tools like Agentforce act as a strategist in the dressing room: they guide decisions with data, but the ultimate performance still depends on human skill and empathy.
Q. Your strategic approach to cricket has always been patient. How can businesses apply this mindset in the face of rapid change?
I’ve always enjoyed playing Test cricket, the longer format of the game. To succeed there, you need patience. It gives you the space to think through your decisions. For businesses too, even in fast-changing situations, staying true to core values while making careful adjustments can make all the difference. Change is inevitable, and instead of resisting it, we must embrace it. The mindset shouldn’t be technology versus us; it should be technology with us where we use the right tools to sharpen our understanding of the changes happening around us.
Q. How can AI help businesses build resilience, and how does it align with your strategic thinking in cricket?
AI, much like data in cricket, can help you prepare better. In the game, we study data to understand conditions and player performance, but ultimately the decisions rest with people. Data is a guide and not the final answer. In the same way, AI can help businesses become sharper and more adaptable, which is an important part of building resilience and being able to embrace change.
Q. How do AI tools like Agentforce transform customer engagement and enhance business outcomes?
Just as a coach studies every opponent and condition to prepare a team, AI tools provide insights that help businesses prepare for customer interactions. Tools like Agentforce act as a strategist in the dressing room: they guide decisions with data, but the ultimate performance still depends on human skill and empathy. That partnership is what makes them so powerful.
The mindset shouldn’t be technology versus us; it should be technology with us where we use the right tools to sharpen our understanding of the changes happening around us.
As AI continues to evolve, customers will likely become more comfortable with it, but empathy and human connection will always remain the defining factors in meaningful engagement.
Q. You’ve emphasised the human element in sports. How can AI complement human decision-making in customer relationships?
I think what makes sport so unique are the emotions you experience, whether as a player or as a fan. From what I have seen and heard, tools like Agentforce provide useful insights and ease some of the load, which allows the employees to focus on doing more. At the same time, AI cannot replace empathy or judgment. As the technology continues to evolve and improve with training, we may also see customers becoming more open to interacting with it and feeling satisfied with the solutions it provides.
Q. What advice do you have for businesses to stay resilient and innovative in the age of AI?
My advice would be to stay true to the core values that have shaped the brand’s journey so far. It’s important to embrace change rather than fear it. At the end of the day, both customers and employees should feel that the brand genuinely cares for them and listens to them in order to support them better. If a business can combine innovation with that sense of care and consistency, it will not only stay resilient but also continue to grow stronger over time.
