Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the enterprise cloud computing (http://www.salesforce.com/cloudcomputing/) company, today announced that it has been ranked as one of the top 10 places to work in IT based on Computerworld’s 100 Best Places to Work in IT 2011 Survey. The annual survey of 500 companies and nearly 30,000 employees ranked salesforce.com number eight out of 100 finalists based on its “agile scrum” development methodology, strong corporate focus on integrated philanthropy and giving back, its recognition for outstanding performance, and career development opportunities. SAN FRANCISCO – July 18, 2011 – Salesforce.com [NYSE: CRM], the enterprise cloud computing (http://www.salesforce.com/cloudcomputing/) company, today announced that it has been ranked as one of the top 10 places to work in IT based on Computerworld’s 100 Best Places to Work in IT 2011 Survey. The annual survey of 500 companies and nearly 30,000 employees ranked salesforce.com number eight out of 100 finalists based on its “agile scrum” development methodology, strong corporate focus on integrated philanthropy and giving back, its recognition for outstanding performance, and career development opportunities. Additionally, salesforce.com was recognized for its employee training and retention, ranking number five and number seven out of 100 companies, respectively.

Salesforce.com’s ranking was based on the following, as reported by Computerworld:
• “IT employees … are given freedom over their schedules. The team uses the agile scrum methodology, where each member can determine how and when to complete their work.”
• “All employees have the benefit of having paid time off to volunteer in their community however they choose to use their skills and expertise — building new housing, setting up IT and networking infrastructure for schools, or sorting toys, for example.”
• “The company rewards outstanding performance in several ways, including spot awards and bonuses, stock awards, merit increases and mahalo (thank-you) bonuses. In addition, the IT department has several of its own rewards programs, including a monthly award and recognition celebration, milestone recognition, and a quarterly and annual peer-selected IT Star Awards program.”

The Methodology of Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT 2010:
• Computerworld surveyed more than 500 nominated companies, asking about the organizations’ average salary and bonus increases, percentage of IT staffers promoted, IT staff turnover rates, training and development, and the percentage of women and minorities in IT staff and management positions. In addition, information was collected on retention efforts, programs for recognizing and rewarding outstanding performances, and benefits such as flextime, elder care and child care, and reimbursement for college tuition and the cost of pursuing technology certifications.
• In addition, 29,308 IT employees responded to the employee survey from the final 100 companies, covering topics including satisfaction with training and development programs, compensation, benefits and work/life balance. In addition, employees were asked to rate employee morale in their IT departments, the importance of various benefits, and their agreement with a variety of statements on subjects ranging from career growth to management’s fair and equal treatment of employees.
