Salesforce Named a Leader in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Software Platforms for  National Civilian Government AI-Enabled Case Management

Salesforce Named a Leader in IDC MarketScape 2026 Vendor Assessment

Salesforce today announced it has been named a Leader in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Software Platforms for National Civilian Government AI-Enabled Case Management 2026 Vendor Assessment.*

As AI reshapes how governments manage and deliver citizen services, agencies need technology that can support their missions from the start. Salesforce brings together purpose-built applications, trusted AI, and a unified platform across critical civilian use cases, helping agencies deploy faster, support security and compliance requirements, and serve constituents with greater efficiency and responsiveness.

Salesforce was recognized for the following strengths:

  • Mission-specific case management templates: Salesforce has a broad portfolio of out-of-the-box civilian case archetypes for benefit, grants, licensing and permitting, social benefits, courts, and emergency response. These blueprints can reduce design risk for cross-program civilian workloads such as integrated eligibility, regulatory enforcement, and grants-to-outcomes traceability.
  • Agentic AI investments: Agentforce ships with prebuilt public sector agent templates wired into the Public Sector Toolkit (guided flows, dynamic assessments, decision tables, intelligent document reader). Agents for complaint-to-case conversion, regulatory compliance, candidate sourcing, and benefit eligibility are usable out of the box rather than requiring greenfield build, and the Agent Fabric supports model choice and MCP/A2A interoperability support agencies pursuing multivendor AI strategies and seeking to avoid lock-in to a single foundation model.
  • Global compliance and sovereignty footprint: Salesforce’s combination of FedRAMP High, DoD IL5, and 13 country-specific authorizations span the EU, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, UAE, and Latin America, supported by Hyperforce EU Operating Zone for in-region data residency.
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of technology and service suppliers in a given market.  The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go to market, and business execution in the short term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a 3-5-year time frame. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the circles. Vendor year-over-year growth rate relative to the given market is indicated by a plus, neutral, or minus next to the vendor name.

“For government leaders, the test of AI’s value is simple: Does it improve outcomes for citizens? When agencies can resolve cases faster, reduce administrative burden, and make services easier to navigate, people feel the difference. Salesforce brings together trusted AI and purpose-built solutions to help governments deliver faster and more accurate outcomes at scale. It’s no wonder 15 of 15 U.S. cabinet agencies use Salesforce.” – Kendall Collins, CEO, Missionforce & Government Cloud

Federal civilian momentum: Salesforce recently announced new initiatives with U.S. federal civilian agencies including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Transportation
