Salesforce plans to expand with second UK data centre in 2019
Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries, Margot James welcomes Salesforce Innovation Centre and plans for new “Ohana Floor”
LONDON — May 15, 2018 — Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, today opened its new Salesforce Innovation Centre in Salesforce Tower London and announced plans to expand its data centre capacity at an event attended by Margot James, Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries. The news comes ahead of Salesforce World Tour London on 17th May, which will welcome 12,000 registered attendees at the ExCeL London.
“We are determined to make the UK the best place to start and grow a digital business, so it is fantastic that Salesforce has chosen London for its first European Innovation Centre. The investment will allow businesses across the country to increase their productivity and strengthen our position as a global leader in technology and innovation,” said Margot James, Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries.

Fuelling Customer Success with New Salesforce Innovation Centre
Salesforce opened the doors to its Salesforce Innovation Centre today at the top of Salesforce Tower London. The new space offers a unique environment where customers like Aston Martin, Centrica Hive and The Co-Op Group can work with Salesforce thought leaders to envision their future and develop innovative solutions to be successful in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through in-depth sessions, customers of all sizes can understand how to drive the digital transformation required to connect with customers in new and intelligent ways by leveraging cloud, social, mobile, AI and connected products with IoT. The Salesforce Innovation Centre is outfitted with the latest IT and audio-visual technology to create immersive, collaborative experiences.

Introducing the Ohana Floor
Next year, the Salesforce Innovation Centre will be complemented by the new Ohana Floor — a unique hospitality floor with exhibition kitchen, coffee barista bar, social and networking space, and sweeping views of the London skyline. The Ohana Floor will be a prime gathering space for employees and customers to foster collaboration, but will be also be available to nonprofits on weeknights and weekends to host their own community events.
Supporting Customer Success with Second UK Data Centre in 2019
Salesforce plans to expand its data centre capacity with a second UK data centre in 2019. The increased footprint will further support the company's rapidly growing base of customers in the region.
Furthering Salesforce’s commitment to sustainability, the new data centre will source 100 percent renewable energy. Last year, Salesforce achieved net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and began providing a carbon neutral cloud for all customers—two critical milestones in the company’s ongoing sustainability journey.
