From local communities to global causes, Salesforce employees are redefining what volunteering looks like in the modern workplace
Giving back is where change begins. Salesforce truly believes that business is the greatest platform for change, and a shared purpose is its greatest force. This belief has cultivated a culture of giving back, one where employees across India and beyond bring their skills, passion, and empathy to create lasting impact.
Where purpose becomes practice
Giving back is in Salesforce’s DNA. The company ensures its people contribute to more than just the bottom line by providing a flexible and powerful framework for impact.
Through its 1-1-1 philanthropic model, Salesforce partners with a curated network of vetted nonprofits, ensuring every hour and every rupee counts. The Employee-Inspired Giving program amplifies personal donations with up to $10,000 in annual matching gifts, while Volunteer Time Off (VTO) gives employees seven paid days a year to dedicate to causes they care about.
This framework is a reflection of Salesforce’s belief that purpose isn’t just woven into work; it’s a sustained way of life that empowers the company to solve society’s most pressing challenges.
Changemakers in the spotlight
The culture of service at Salesforce is far beyond a top-down directive; it is a powerful movement driven by employees who are empowered to become changemakers.
This commitment was recently celebrated at the Karma Summit Asia 2025 in Bengaluru, where Salesforce was honoured for shaping the future of corporate volunteering.
The accolades include:
- The Mobiliser Award recognised Salesforce for exceptional workforce participation.
- The Impactpreneur Award was presented to Pratibha Sharma of the Employee Impact team for pioneering innovative programs in India.
- The Volunteering Champion Award honoured Budhharaju Rasagna Varma, an Employee Impact Council lead, for his outstanding role in promoting volunteering across Salesforce India.
“Volunteering gives me perspective and purpose. Every hour spent is a reminder that even small actions can make a big difference when we show up consistently for our communities.” said Budhharaju Rasagna Varma, Operations Senior Analyst, Salesforce India.
Manish Jain, Senior Manager, Software Engineering, who volunteered with Impact is Global-Bhumi NGO Scholars on their student evaluations and scholarship schemes, said: “It is an aspirational program to make sure that accidents of circumstance do not stop students from pursuing higher studies and students should have access to inspiration, guidance and funding. The experience reminded me that true leadership is about service, lending our time and skills to causes larger than ourselves.”
From milestone to movement
Reflecting on this recognition, Sanket Atal, Managing Director, Salesforce India and South Asia, said:
“The true strength of volunteering lies in its ability to unite people behind a common purpose. Our employees are catalysts of change, bringing their energy, talent, and creativity to the communities we serve. This recognition at Karma Summit Asia is a milestone that inspires us to push further, innovate boldly, and continue leading with purpose. The future of business will be defined not only by technology and growth, but by how deeply we embed impact into everything we do.”
Our culture at Salesforce is defined not only by the work we do, but by the impact we create together.

The ripple effect of giving back
At Salesforce, giving back is how employees live the company’s values. It’s a movement where purpose and action converge to create a legacy of lasting change.
The recognition at Karma Summit Asia 2025 is more than an honour; it is proof that Salesforce is charting a path where corporate volunteering isn’t just celebrated, it’s scaled, sustained, and deeply embedded in how business leads with purpose.
