What keeps us running?

Five years on, Salesforce Run turns every step into impact
Some traditions grow because people keep coming back. Others evolve because, with each year, they begin to mean something more.
Salesforce Run has done both. What began as a way to bring colleagues together around wellbeing has evolved into a South Asia-wide experience shaped by community, giving back and a shared sense of purpose. This year, that purpose extends further, connecting participation to ecological restoration across India and the Philippines, aligned to the company’s commitment to sustainability.
So, what keeps Salesforce Run moving? We spoke to Nandini George, Senior Director – Sites & Business Operations, about the spirit behind the Run, how it has evolved over five years, and what can happen when people, purpose and impact move in the same direction.
Q. Five years on, what keeps Salesforce Run moving, and what does it say about the Salesforce community?
At its heart, the Run is about bringing employees across Salesforce South Asia together around what matters: wellbeing, giving back, and the connections that make our community stronger.
People continue to show up year after year because the Run gives us a shared experience and a shared purpose. Whether someone is running alongside colleagues, participating virtually, or simply getting involved in the giving, there is a sense that every action contributes to something bigger.
This year, there are physical runs in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Singapore, alongside eight virtual cities. Together, that takes the Run to all 11 Salesforce office locations across South Asia.
That says something very simple about who we are: people want to be part of things that have meaning. The Run brings together health, community, and purpose in a way that feels very natural. You can run with a colleague, volunteer your time, make a contribution, or simply encourage someone else to take part. When those moments come together across South Asia, they become part of something much larger.
Five years in, it has become more than an event on the calendar. It is a way for us to come together as a community, and a reminder that purpose does not always have to start with a grand gesture. Sometimes, it starts with simply showing up.
Q. What makes Salesforce Run 2026 different from previous editions?
Salesforce Run 2026 builds on five years of community and wellbeing, while taking the idea of collective impact further. This year, participation is directly connected to ecological restoration in the Philippines and India, with employees able to contribute through volunteering and direct giving.
People continue to show up year after year because the Run gives us a shared experience and a shared purpose.
The edition also brings physical and virtual participation together across all 11 Salesforce office locations in South Asia, connecting people across cities and borders through one shared experience.
What makes 2026 distinctive is how these elements come together: wellbeing, community, and giving back, creating a movement where participation can have an impact well beyond the Run itself.
Q. There are two giving mechanisms this year. How do they work, and why introduce both?
Together, Salesforce Run is designed to create multiple pathways for people to turn their willingness to give back into meaningful action. When people bring what they can, whether it is their time, energy, or resources, individual contributions can come together to create collective impact.
This year’s Run brings together two giving mechanisms. Employees can log their volunteering hours through Benevity, helping unlock support for an ecological restoration project in the Philippines. They can also contribute to the employee fundraiser for Himalayan Langur habitat restoration in Himachal Pradesh — and their donations will go double the distance with Salesforce’s donation matching benefit.
Together, these approaches connect individual acts of giving with a shared environmental purpose. They reflect the broader idea behind the Salesforce Run: creating opportunities for people across South Asia to come together around actions that can extend well beyond the Run itself.
Q. Three physical cities, eight virtual cities, and 11 cities overall. What does this new hybrid model make possible?
Salesforce Run has always been about bringing people together, and the hybrid model takes that spirit further by making geography less of a barrier to participation.
This year, there are physical runs in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Singapore, alongside eight virtual cities. Together, that takes the Run to all 11 Salesforce office locations across South Asia.
A physical run creates a wonderful sense of energy and camaraderie, but the experience should not be limited by where someone is based. The hybrid format allows people to take part wherever they are, while still feeling part of one shared movement.
It is another way of bringing our South Asia community together, across offices, cities and borders.
Q. Five years in, what do you hope the Run leaves behind beyond the event itself?
Salesforce Run has grown into more than a moment of movement. It has become a platform for connection, wellbeing, and giving back, bringing people together around a shared sense of purpose.
This year, that purpose extends further by connecting participation to ecological restoration, demonstrating how a shared experience can translate into meaningful impact for communities and ecosystems beyond our own.
Ultimately, the Run reflects what can happen when people come together with purpose. Five years on, it stands as a reminder that collective action, however it begins, can set something much bigger in motion.
