Salesforce today announced that it has been recognized as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Low-Code Application Platforms. Salesforce is one of 12 vendors that Gartner evaluated, and was named a Leader for the sixth time.
The Salesforce advantage in low-code development: The surge in demand for AI agents and AI-powered applications is reshaping what – and how – teams build. Developers are now expected to deliver more sophisticated solutions faster while maintaining control, security, and quality. More than four in five developers believe AI agents will become as essential to app development as traditional tools. The Salesforce Platform and Agentforce empower developers to meet this moment with low-code, AI-assisted tools to build, test, and govern both agents and applications — accelerating velocity with a unified agent and app development lifecycle on a trusted, extensible, and open foundation.
Innovation in action: Salesforce’s investments in its enterprise low-code agent and app development platform this year include:
- Agentforce Enhancements: Salesforce delivered Agentforce 2dx with new low-code tools and free development environments to help Salesforce developers configure, test, and deploy Agentforce faster. Salesforce also launched Agentforce 3, which includes the new Agentforce Command Center, a unified observability solution for measuring, managing, and optimizing AI agents — capturing granular session traces and integrating seamlessly with teams’ other monitoring tools.
- AI-Assisted Development Tools: Agentforce for Developers, Salesforce’s multi-turn conversational code gen tool, integrates low-code, AI-based support into the developer experience. Agentforce for Developers has also released next-gen updates like Test Case Generation, a Code Analyzer extension, AI custom rules, and user-specified context.
- Interoperability: With the launch of Agentforce 3, Salesforce will deliver built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) support so that teams can connect Agentforce to any MCP-compliant tool without custom code. MuleSoft additionally converts any API into a trusted MCP server, helping teams orchestrate and govern multi-system actions.
- Governance and Trust: Salesforce has also enhanced its governance options for apps, agents, and APIs. DevOps Testing lets builders set quality gates for new features such as Flows, agent actions, and app components. Agentforce Command Center and Event Monitoring provide full observability across Salesforce agents, users, and apps. Salesforce also integrated Own into its Trusted Services portfolio, strengthening its security, privacy, and data resilience suite. Development teams can seed data across development environments, restore data that gets lost or corrupted, and help keep PII classified and masked.
