Salesforce.com Announces Integration for Great Plains and QuickBooks

Best-of-breed back office integration features pre-built adapters to widely used accounting applications

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - May 29, 2003 - Salesforce.com®, the technology and market leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced the availability of a new best of breed accounting integration package. Featuring pre-built accounting adapters to Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU) QuickBooks and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Business Solutions-Great Plains accounting software, the package provides customers with the flexibility to seamlessly integrate salesforce.com's award-winning on-demand CRM solution with their choice of widely-used accounting software solutions, rather than imposing a rigid accounting back-end decision as part of a CRM package. This marks the first time that a pre-built Great Plains adapter is available for any CRM application.

"Salesforce.com gives us the freedom to select the accounting package that best meets our needs, without worrying about duplication of effort or how it integrates with our CRM system," said David Fertell, president of Pearl Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise Internet monitoring and control solutions. "We get the best of both worlds, for maximum success, on our terms."

The accounting adapters, built by salesforce.com partner eBRIDGE Software Inc., leverage salesforce.com's online platform and XML API to tightly couple the on-demand CRM service with top accounting applications, without any server-level integration. Following a simple one-button installation process, users can take full advantage of seamless integration between CRM and accounting applications, including automatic synchronization of account, opportunity and contact information between the applications, for a true 360-degree customer view. The connectors allow companies to choose best-of-breed CRM and accounting solutions, rather than settle for immature products in each area. Additional connectors for ACCPAC, Solomon and others will be available shortly.

"Unlike our competition, we believe that our customers should have the freedom to use the best CRM application and the best accounting application at their disposal, rather than being limited by predefined and packaged processes," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "Salesforce.com's online platform and open XML-based API easily enabled the rapid development and deployment of adapters to both the QuickBooks and GreatPlains applications, with the result that we can offer a Great Plains connector months before Microsoft itself brings one to market."

Salesforce.com's utility model delivers robust CRM technology on a pay-as-you-go basis for immediate success.
