Introducing Our Newest Tower, Salesforce Tower Chicago

We're incredibly proud to announce our new home in the Windy City — Salesforce Tower Chicago.

It’s been an exciting year of growth for Salesforce Chicago! In early November, we were named The Chicago Tribune’s #1 Top Workplace and brought hundreds of new employees from recent acquisitions into our workspaces and the Salesforce family. Looking forward to even more growth and success, today we are proud to announce our future home — Salesforce Tower Chicago — and 1,000 new jobs over the next five years!

Salesforce Tower Chicago will be a brand-new, 813 foot tall, 57 story tower, soon to be located at the foot of where the north and south branches of the Chicago River converge. Surrounding our future tower is the best of Chicago’s River North neighborhood and right outside our doors will be a 2.3 acre public park, riverfront plaza and steps away from the new riverwalk for the entire community to enjoy. We can’t wait to add our big blue cloud to the Chicago skyline starting in 2023!

When we approach our real estate, we design our offices as spaces that feel like home, where we can welcome our entire Ohana (“family” in Hawaiian). This includes our employees, customers, partners and the communities in which we live and work. Known as the Ohana design standard, our philosophy incorporates sustainable materials, spacious social lounges for collaboration, mindfulness zones for meditation, a coffee barista bar, parent’s rooms for nursing parents, focus on natural light and so much more. Consistent across our named towers globally located in San Francisco, New York, Indianapolis, and more on the way in Atlanta and London are our Ohana Floors. In a typical office setting, the top floor is often dedicated for executive offices. Instead, we take the most sought after floors and design them as open flexible hospitality spaces. During the day, our Ohana Floors are open for employee events and then on weeknights and weekends, these one-of-a-kind spaces with jaw-dropping views are made available for non-profits and foundations at no cost — aligning with our values of giving back. Guess what Chicago, we’re bringing an Ohana Floor to the top floor of Salesforce Tower Chicago with unobstructed 360 degree views of the city before you know it!

Our offices are physical expressions of our values and as a company, we believe the business of business is improving the state of the world. We’re constantly looking at ways to push the limit and do what’s best for our stakeholders, including the environment. Salesforce Tower Chicago will be one of the company’s most sustainable buildings to date pursuing LEED v4 Commercial Interiors Platinum certification and ILFI Net Zero Carbon Certification.

Today’s announcement wouldn’t have been possible without the world-class talent that keeps our Chicago office firing on all cylinders, and their continued commitment to the greater community. From Salesforce’s beginnings, the company pioneered the Pledge 1% model where we dedicate 1% of employee time, 1% of the company’s equity and 1% of our products to the community. To date, our local employees have dedicated over 125,000 volunteer hours to area non-profits including Habitat for Humanity, Cradles to Crayons, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Safe Haven and numerous others. The bar continues to be raised — in honor of the news, our Chicago employees have pledged to volunteer 40,000 additional hours in 2019 alone!
