John C. Fernandez

John C. Fernandez is a senior revenue and demand generation leader with over a quarter-century of experience building and scaling B2B SaaS growth engines. He has led global marketing organizations at multiple stages of company growth, from early-stage venture-backed startups through IPO, driving hundreds of millions in pipeline and tens of millions in recurring revenue across enterprise, mid-market, and emerging segments.

John is currently SVP of Global Demand Generation at Datasite, where he focuses on building scalable, data-driven growth systems across a multi-brand SaaS portfolio for the leader in the virtual data room market. Throughout his career, John has been a frequent industry speaker at events such as Dreamforce, Marketo Summit, SiriusDecisions Summit, and Content Marketing World.

Alongside his professional career, John has deep roots in the chess community. An accomplished competitive player, organizer, and educator, he has worked with leading chess institutions, organized international events, and served in governance roles supporting the growth of the game. He currently serves as the Vice President of US Chess and has held board positions at the world-famous Marshall Chess Club and the Hannibal Country Club, where he served as President in 2025. A born-and-bred New Yorker, John now lives in Hannibal, Missouri, with his wife, three young sons, twenty-three chickens, and a cat.
