Peace & Joy 2025: Purpose in Action, Impact at Scale

A student in a Bengaluru government school sees a playground in a stack of discarded tyres. A volunteer in a Mumbai community kitchen sees a moment of dignity, not just a meal.

These powerful vignettes, among countless others, define the spirit of Peace & Joy 2025.  In 2025, Salesforce employees across India turned purpose into powerful action, creating meaningful change for both communities and the people who serve them. Across six cities in India, Salesforce employees turned purpose into powerful action, creating meaningful change for both communities and the people who serve them.

Translating shared values into concrete impact, together, 1,700+ volunteers across 6 hubs contributed 3,000+ volunteering hours over a few weeks through on-ground, in-office, and virtual initiatives – creating meaningful and lasting impact. This season, focused on both immediate community needs and long-term opportunity, demonstrated the significant scale and consistency of employee-led social impact initiatives across India.

From Waste to Play: Climate Action in Motion

The spirit of Peace & Joy was especially visible in the transformation of school environments. By upcycling more than 625 kilograms of discarded tyres, volunteers helped create safer, more engaging play spaces for children, turning waste into opportunity while keeping sustainability at the centre.

Climate learning extended beyond infrastructure. Through Young Scientist sessions in government schools, students explored weather and seasonal change through interactive games and simple design activities.

Changemakers in Action: Shiva’s Story

Peace & Joy 2025 was further highlighted by the visit of Naomi Morenzoni, SVP of AI for Impact & Sustainability Philanthropy at Salesforce and a founding board member of Pledge 1%. During a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) session in Bengaluru, she engaged directly with students and witnessed the potential of grassroots innovation.

This focus on capacity building was further strengthened by the Green Skills Academy, delivered in partnership with 1M1B, which supported youth training for emerging green and AI-enabled roles.

One such example was Shiva Kumar, a young innovator whose “Artificial Tree” project aimed to address air quality challenges through sustainable design.

What I experienced during Peace & Joy 2025 in India was impact grounded in listening and shared action, whether in classrooms, public spaces or conversations between volunteers and communities.

Commenting on the initiative, Naomi Morenzoni, SVP, AI for Impact & Sustainability Philanthropy said: “Real change happens when people, purpose and community come together with intention and humility. What I experienced during Peace & Joy 2025 in India was impact grounded in listening and shared action, whether in classrooms, public spaces or conversations between volunteers and communities. When employees, partners and local organisations work together with trust and care, impact stops being an aspiration and becomes something lived and sustained.”

Employees also engaged themselves in Zero Waste Living sessions, exploring practical ways to reduce waste and make more sustainable everyday choices at home and at work. These interactive volunteering sessions on waste management brought together leaders committed to organizational sustainability. Participants explored how implementing effective waste management, recycling, and e-waste strategies can dramatically reduce environmental footprint, conserve valuable resources, and deliver measurable business benefits, from enhanced corporate reputation to increased employee engagement in sustainability initiatives.

Career Spark: Turning Skills into Opportunity

Economic opportunity was another key focus of Peace & Joy 2025. Through the Career Spark programme, Salesforce professionals volunteered their expertise to support job seekers and shelter residents. Workshops on CV building, interview preparation and networking helped participants build confidence and take practical steps towards economic independence.

Supporting Dignity Through Everyday Care

Across India, teams also focused on meeting essential needs that underpin wellbeing and inclusion. Initiatives included preparing and serving meals, supporting food security and urban farming efforts, distributing essential clothing and hygiene supplies, and delivering LGBTQ+ Wellness Kits to reinforce dignity and belonging.

From Local Action to Global Commitment

While Peace & Joy 2025 was shaped by local community needs, it reflected a wider global movement at Salesforce. Earlier milestones, including employees worldwide crossing 10 million volunteer hours, underscored the scale and consistency of employee-led giving enabled through the 1-1-1 model.

In India, this commitment was brought to life through trusted grassroots partnerships and a strong culture of employee ownership, where teams were empowered to lead impact in the communities they knew best.

A Shared Commitment

Peace & Joy 2025 was made possible through collaboration across Employee Engagement, Equality, the Employee Impact Council and Real Estate Workplaces Services and Salesforce Employee Resource Groups.

Together, these efforts reinforced how giving back remains embedded in the way Salesforce works, ensuring that employee-led action continues to strengthen communities across India.
