Delivering a new level of power, flexibility and ease in CRM development, sforce 3.0 enables companies to use Web services to customize, integrate and extend salesforce.com to meet their unique business requirements. Sforce 3.0 features significant new customization capabilities, as well as major enhancements to the Web services API, that allow developers to create sophisticated on-demand CRM applications with unprecedented simplicity and success.
Sforce 3.0 powers salesforce.com Spring '04, the world's most customizable CRM, for more than 9,500 customers worldwide. The on-demand platform, which provides robust data management, security and user interface capabilities, also powers salesforce.com Studio, the point-and-click on-demand customization suite for the business administrator. With sforce 3.0 and salesforce.com Studio, on-demand CRM is now more customizable than even client/server software.

New sforce 3.0 features include:
» Advanced Custom Objects: Originally introduced with sforce 2.0, custom objects allow enterprises to extend the salesforce.com data model with new data types and models. With sforce 3.0, custom objects have been enhanced to include management of relationships between objects, creation of custom layouts, new security capabilities and automatic reporting and indexing.
» Database Mirroring APIs: Now available in the sforce Web service is a new set of APIs to allow companies to easily create locally-managed and near-real-time views of their salesforce.com data. Facilitating integration with local data warehouse systems, these APIs allow for the simple deployment of advanced analytic capabilities, and the integration of key customer and sales data with other enterprise systems.
» Sforce Object Search Language: Building on the query capabilities introduce in November 2003, sforce 3.0 feature SOSL (Sforce Object Search Language), a new and simplified approach to creating and managing searches include unstructured data and fields. A first for Web services, SOSL makes the advanced capabilities of the sforce Web service API approachable and easy to learn for developers of all skill levels.
Originally released in June 2003, sforce has emerged as one of the most widely used enterprise Web services, allowing over 1,500 developers, 500 enterprises and 100 independent software vendors to create sophisticated and rich CRM solutions using the tools they love, including the recently announced sforce Toolkit for IBM [NYSE: IBM] WebSphere.
