Salesforce.com Placed in the Leaders Quadrant of the Sales Force Automation Magic Quadrant 2007

Gartner predicts the majority of new SFA deployments in the next three years will be based on software as a service

SAN FRANCISCO -July 5, 2007- Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant by Gartner, Inc. in the 'Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation (SFA) 2007' by K. Rush and R. Desisto, June 29, 2007.

"We are thrilled that a pure on-demand company has been named to the Leaders Quadrant by Gartner in its Magic Quadrant report," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com. "Salesforce.com is dedicated to continuing to lead the CRM industry and most importantly, its customers and partners, to new levels of success."

Gartner defines Leaders as companies that "demonstrate market-defining vision and the ability to execute against that vision through products, services, demonstrable sales figures and solid new references for multiple geographies and vertical industries. A characteristic of a Leader is that most competitive vendors will tend to measure their own success against the success of leading vendors."

In addition, the report states that, "key trends during the past year are the continued growth of SaaS - that is, on demand SFA - as a viable delivery model for small and large companies. Gartner predicts that within three years the majority of new SFA deployments will be based on SaaS."

Generally noted for its thought leadership in leveraging the SaaS model, salesforce.com has forever changed the technology and business models for software.  Much like how consumer Internet companies like Amazon, eBay and Google deliver their services, salesforce.com's multi-tenant architecture allows customers to access information residing in a single database via the web, delivering economies of scale and the collective resources of the community, where everyone benefits from a secure, robust, shared infrastructure.

Salesforce.com's flagship Salesforce SFA solution consistently drives high levels of sales success for its customers.  High user adoption, a complete suite of tools, and powerful customization to support any sales process make it the only choice for sales reps, managers, and executives looking for success.  As part of the number-on on-demand CRM solution, Salesforce SFA is used by companies around the world to help grow revenues, increase customer satisfaction and reduce expenses.
