Introducing Agentforce Guides

Agentforce Guides offer guidance and best practices.
Agentforce Guides will evolve along with the product, with future guides exploring topics like retrieval augmented generation (RAG), building secure agents, and more.

This new series of Agentforce Guides will provide deep technical details and straightforward guidance.

As organizations navigate the rapid evolution of agentic AI, the need for practical guidance for technical practitioners building with Agentforce is increasingly apparent. This is especially true for those who are tasked with designing robust and effective solutions with these new tools. That’s why I’m incredibly excited to introduce you to the first in a series of guides designed specifically for architects, and other technical practitioners, working with Agentforce.

This project is near and dear to my heart. Before I joined the Agentforce Product Marketing team, I worked for more than a decade architecting Salesforce solutions. Having resources that offered clear actionable guidance for how to build healthy solutions was incredibly important to me. I hope that this new series of Agentforce Guides will provide the same sort of technical details and straightforward guidance that I found so valuable.

Learn Agentforce best practices

Agentforce guide to reasoning, topics, actions, and instructions

Yes, it’s a mouthful, but this guide covers a lot of ground, building a foundation for understanding Agentforce, the Atlas Reasoning Engine, and how topics, instructions, and actions function together. It also highlights the crucial role of Data Cloud as the underlying infrastructure that fuels a number of Agenforce capabilities. And of course, no guide is complete without best practices and examples of what good looks like when it comes to implementing these concepts and tools.

Here’s a peek at what you can expect in the first guide:

  • Agentforce’s core components defined, with guidance on when to use what
  • A deep dive into how Agentforce works behind the scenes, particularly through the Atlas Reasoning Engine
  • Best practices for defining the elements that control your agent’s behavior, such as topics, instructions, and actions
  • Details on what Agentforce features supported by Data Cloud’s infrastructure

What’s next for Agentforce guides

Agentforce Guides will evolve along with the product, with future guides offering deeper insights into topic areas like retrieval augmented generation (RAG), building secure agents, and more. Each guide will also evolve as new products, features, and guidance are added. What we’re publishing today is only the beginning.

By helping you understand these critical concepts and how they work together, I hope that you can find greater success with agentic AI, and more confidence in adopting Agentforce for your customers.
